It is a great looking watch with a nice but not fancy movement.

The finishing on the watch is amazing ,the crystal, the leather band and the stainless steel are all equal to more expensive watches.

For those who care about the movement or in laymans terms, the "sweep" of the second hand, it is a nice movement.

Bought this watch a few weeks ago and have been happy with the purchase. The reason I bought it was because I was looking for a departure from my normal watch. I have a few pilot type watches, all larger than typically 44mm and all with metal bracelets. This watch really fit the bill of what I was looking for with the simple leather band and the simple face. I did a lot of review on this watch through many sites before making my final decision. It came down really to this watch, the same watch with the ETA movement ($700+) and one of the Hamilton Khaki watches ($700+). The Hamilton is a very nice watch and I really liked the distinct styling on the dial with the raised metal numerals and the ETA movement is very durable and smooth. What it came down to was that it was not quite "simple" enough looking for me as I was really looking to depart from my norm of lots of function overall "clutter". This left me with this watch and the more expensive ETA movement version. This watch has a really great history all the way back to the 1920s and into WWII with the German pilots. It was one of only a few brands issued at the time. While this watch is pretty plain, it is for a reason as it keeps in touch with its historic roots. Truth be told, I think the ETA version is a better watch (not just because of the movement). It has the historical engravings on the side of the case as well as the case back and has a more traditional face, albeit subtle. The common observer would never notice the difference between the two besides maybe the clear case back on the Miyota and the lack thereof on the ETA. In the end I chose this watch because the few subtleties were not enough to make up for the price difference.Read more ›

If you are looking for an automatic pilot watch look no further. This watch is an excellent value for the money. Even the watch box it comes in is high quality. It looks handsome on the thick brown leather band. This was my first Laco but definitely wont be my last.

The Laco Type B Miyota is exactly what you think it is (if you have done the research on it). It is a great looking watch with a nice but not fancy movement. It has kept good time for me. The only detractor that I have noticed is a slightly noisy movement. It's not enough to annoy me or to make me consider not buying another Laco or watch with a Miyota movement in the future.
