I got this for my then fiance who HATES strong scents. In the past I've purchased Burberry for him and he doesn't wear it. He threw out the Armani scents because they were too strong. It is a challenge to find him anything he will wear other than Clinque Happy for Men. I was looking to buy him a wedding scent, something he doesn't usually wear, and went to Nordstrom's. Every scent the saleslady offered was too strong, too woodsy, too musky, too everything my husband can't stand. Then she sprayed this scent and I knew it was the one. It is very light and simple, not in the least bit overpowering, and he loves it. Now he wears it daily, even on the weekends! It has some "time release" system that does somehow work, because the scent still smells good in the late evening, despite putting it on early in the am. The main notes are tangerine, bergamot, tomato leaves, cassis, black pepper, rose, patchouli, sandalwood and wood accord. I know that sounds like a weird combination, but it works! This is a great scent for a guy who doesn't want to overpower the room, but wants to smell good all day.

Lacoste Essential is an amazing scent. I have recieved quite a few compliments regarding this fragrance, the main tone of this cologne (haha, that rhymes..) is because one of the main ingredients is pepper (seriously). After the main, spicy tone, it fades off into a light-semi citrus end-note.
The cologne is perfect for spring into summer time, especially when you sweat. Why when you sweat? Lacoste Essential is probably one of the ONLY colognes in the world that uses a technology (forgive me, the name escapes me) in which it reactivates itself when body temperature goes up. It has a life of about 3-5 hours before it begins to fade, however, say you use this cologne, and after a few hours, begin to sweat, or get heated up by any event, the cologne will re-activate and the scent will return like it was sprayed not too long ago. Works GREAT for athletes or for those who work outside, even the nervous types will find this technology very useful. Don't forget, the scent of any cologne is amplified by each person's individual scent! I would definatley recommend this.

This is my favorite scent by far. It isn't overpowering, and smells divine. It lasts well into the day with just a spritz. It is worth every penny.

I have great taste at picking out what scents smell best for my friends and family, so it's no surprise that they are constantly asking me for my opinion when they're trying to purchase a new perfume or cologne. With that being said, my father's birthday was around the corner, and not being the type that will purchase a cologne without actually sampling it first, I was short on time, and decided to just go with what I thought would smell good and that my father would like as a birthday gift, and just took the chance and purchased the LaCoste cologne online (on Amazon.com) after only reading the scent's description. I was afraid that the scent would be 'too strong' or 'cheap smelling', but to my complete surprise, the next thing I knew was that I was receiving a call from both my father and mother on the great scent I had bought my dad for his birthday. They were also dying to know how in the world I had picked an excellent scent with so many different types of men's colonges to choose from. Anyway, that was a year ago, and since then, my dad asks for nothing but the LaCoste cologne EVERY year on his birthday. Shhhh! It's our little secret ;) Haha!

P.S.-I probably should have mentioned what exactly this cologne smells like instead of that whole story, so here goes...the cologne has the type of scent that most would consider to be "fresh" and "crisp-like." It's NOT a 'woodsy' type of scent, nor is it 'too strong' or 'too heavy'. It's got a 'clean' type of scent to it, if that makes any sense. Whatever the case, trust me, buy it cause you can't possibly go wrong with a scent that smells this good!

I've used this cologne before and I have a bottle now. There is a reason why. It smells darn good. It reminds people of summer (which happens to be the perfect time to wear it, but it is just as good in the winter).

It smells clean and fresh as if you just dumped a vat of AXE body-wash on yourself. I'd highly recommend this product for all the guys out there. One spritz is enough, point at neck, shoot, get hickies (oooh yea!).

I don't usually wear cologne but when I first smelt this, it was amazing. The unique smell was fresh and light, but lasted almost the whole day. Only one spray was needed. If you don't like cologne with a spicy heavy sent, this is the one to wear.

Even though this is a man's cologne, I wear it and get tons of compliments. I received a sample from Sephora and when I tried it I had at least ten people ask me what I was wearing. It's a fresh, clean smell with just a hint of fruitiness. Love it.

This was a smooth purchase. I already liked the Lacoste fragrance and had purchased it in the past, but the seller was excellent and delivery went well. I would purchase from them again...

gotten compliments on this scent..and it lasts for a good 6 hours. good summer fragrance and sprays good and solid bottle. great buy for the price here on amazon !
