I'm an unfortunate victim of both lactose intolerance and IBS. The first couple of weeks taking these pills was uncomfortable (I guess because the bacteria need time to feel at home...) but after that I could begin eating most of my old favorites again (chocolate, SOME ice cream, etc.).

But a word of warning: Contrary to what the label says, I don't recommend "eating as much as you like" of your favorite dairy foods. I still get hammered every now and then (seemingly unpredictably) when I overdo the ice cream or cheesecake.

I've had the best luck taking a fast-acting lactase enzyme tablet before dairy, in addition to one of these every AM. Eat more yoghurt.

These work so well! It's absolutely amazing to me that before I would get a huge stomach ache throughout the day by just drinking one tall glass of milk, but that now I can drink up to a half gallon of milk without any side effects.

I am a super skinny, tall guy and am trying to bulk up, and the most efficient way to do that is by drinking huge amounts of milk a day. Unfortunately, I am lactose intolerant, so I thought I'd give these a shot, and I am glad I did. Now I'm sure to add that extra mass that I want by drinking all the milk I can get.

I can not tell you how happy I am to have found this product. I developed Lactose Intolerance somewhat randomly when I was 18yrs old. I have eaten dairy, and lots of it, my entire life. I was extremely aggravated and distraught to find out I couldn't eat some of my favorite foods anymore. I tried Lactaid but that was a pain, having to carry around the pills in my pocket "just in case" I found myself in a situation with dairy products. One day I saw this on the shelf next to Lactaid at the store and tried it out. AMAZING! 1 pill in the morning with breakfast and I can eat dairy all day. No more pockets-of-pills and no more wondering "Am I going to feel sick after this meal?" I highly recommend this product.

This review is for ANYONE who regularly uses, and was recently disappointed by a change to the Digestive Advantage product listed here.

The folks at Digestive Advantage either no longer make the exact product listed on this page, OR they've made it very hard to find. I recently purchased this three pack from this seller, and was sent the new version of the product which indicates "Lactose Defense Formula" instead of "Lactose Intolerance" on the box.

They are similar products, but they are NOT the same. The old "Lactose Intolerance" product contained AT LEAST 2x the amount of enzyme inside each capsule, realistically only needing ONE per day. This new "Lactose Defense Formula" (the product sold here even though the image does not indicate this) requires me to take 2-3 per day in order to get the full dose.

Please update the product image or actually distribute the product you are advertising here.

My daughter is lactose intolerant. This product gives her the ability to take one pill each morning and not have to worry about what she consumes for the rest of the day. For a school-age child, that is far preferable to having to remember to carry around pills to take every time she consumes dairy. I'm a believer.

Digestive Advantage is giving me GERD and heartburn. At first I couldn't believe it, since it is sold specifically for helping people with digestive problems. But after stopping it for 2 days and starting up again, I am sure this is the cause of the heartburn I am having. I didn't have heartburn and GERD before starting this product.
What a disappointment!!!!!!

The only med my son says has helped him over the years. He is now 17 and finds if he takes one daily he is controlled for the entire day. SAFE, INEXPENSIVE AND EFFECTIVE! Great item!

This stuff works! You only need to take it once a day.. It works all day long!
It's affordable too! Now i can enjoy dairy again! I can enjoy ice cream again.. Yay!!!

When I first started using this product, it worked very well. However, over time it stopped working so I stopped purchasing it.

After having been diagnosed as lactose intolerant, and little success with over the counter pills, out of desperation, I googled looking for help. I received the product quickly and have given it a about a month to work. I have experienced no change in my problem. This product may work well for others, but did nothing for me.
