The literal meaning of jamawar is "grown piece", the technical and trade name for a shawl cloth or long shawl. Such pieces are woven on loom and have an intricate pattern. The tapestry technique is used throughout for weaving jamawar. Briefly, the jamawar tapestry shawl has several elements such as various borders, woven panels, and embroidered fringes. The most striking feature is the floral design of small repeated patterns or stripes on the entire fields. In general, dry cleaning is the preferred method of washing these jamawar woolen shawls and stoles. To wash by hand, use very cold water. After washing, do not wring dry. Simply lay it flat to dry. Once dry, you may press it with warm iron but it is best to put a piece of paper or cloth between the iron and the fabric.

Beautiful wool shawl. Really warm and really comfortable. Very soft, no hint of scratchiness that causes itching like a lot of other woolen scarves. The natural colours are perfect in the evenings. The detail in the main body is very intricate and elegant, while the edges are a perfect finish. The tassels are well made and stay very well.
