The correspondence of the Ladies of Letters of the popular BBC radio series. As perceptive as Joyce Grenfell, as waspish as Hinge and Brackett, Vera and Irene's correspondence is as coruscating as ever.

This review is from: Ladies of Letters.Com (Paperback)
Three 1/2 stars
Ladies of letters.com is a funny little book. For those who want to follow the continuing adventures of Irene Spencer and Vera Small, this is of course a must-read. If you haven't read any ladies of letters books, you must read the first (called simply "ladies of letters" or in "Ladies of Letters and More" which contains this first and second books for the same price!). While I laughed aloud plenty of times, I felt like Ladies of Letters.com became a bit too much like a soap-opera. While the ladies have always gotten themselves into bizarre situations, I found that their globe-trekking, combined with long-lost relatives and family drama that got strange even for them, was a bit much. But that could just be me.
