This review is from: Ladies Night (Audio CD)
This is the only Preston Reed CD I own. I really enjoy how peaceful and beautiful it is. It's perfect to listen to when I'm tinkering in my basement. It's very easy to listen to all the way through. The album is very well paced. Some of the tunes are absolutely gorgeous. I especially like the ballads.

Just Cant Agree With That One,

This review is from: Ladies Night (Audio CD)
Anybody with an ear for music will love this stuff! It is one of Reed's best! Textured, funky, rhythmical pieces are interspersed with some of the most moving, soulful and emotionally charged ballads you'll hear on any acoustic guitar album. Lets face it, would the late great Michael Hedges have called him "Inspiring" if he wasn't? or could Al DiMiola have got it wrong when he used the word "Phenomenal" to describe Reed's abilities? I think not. As someone who owns all of Reed's albums, I have to disagree completely with the Music Fan from Australia. However, I wouldn't presume to tell you which CD you need in your collection, but I would strongly recommend that you listen and make your own mind up. Check Preston Reed out for yourself, you wont be disappointed.

Reed Funk,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ladies Night (Audio CD)
The title track 'Ladies Night' is the best track on this CD. This is a great funky track that brings together all the finer elements of Reeds's individual style. The rest of the album is enjoyable, but I find that with Reed, every track where he plays percussion and taps tends to sound the same. I own a few of his CDs, and this sameness is evident on a lot of tunes. Likewise, when Reed decides to layback, his quiet tracks sound much the same. This CD is so far the better of the lot, and the only one you really need as an example of his style of playing.
