5.0 out of 5 stars Surfs up
Bratmobile revives to bring fans this musical masterpiece of surfer punk grrrl rock. Although it has been a while since their last album, the sound is no less fresh and will completely impress and blow you away.

3.0 out of 5 stars deffinetly not their finest.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Bratmobile. They are an inspiration to all the little riot grrl's, But this cd lacked a certain element that the other's had. If you're looking into Bratmobile and you aren't sure what cd to buy, I'd deffinetly start with "pottymouth". "Real Janelle" is a close second. If they turn out to be like your absolute favorite band, then I'd buy...

Bratmobile revives to bring fans this musical masterpiece of surfer punk grrrl rock. Although it has been a while since their last album, the sound is no less fresh and will completely impress and blow you away.

Although I really try to be good about listening to CD's all the way through, I rarely do this because of a lack of time or boredom. Bratmobile is one of the bands that I can consistently listen to without forwarding or rewinding anything.I also have an unparalled urge to get up and dance in celebration of their supremely awesome grrrl power lyrics.

While the band has been overlooked by the mass media (who remain fixated on Bikini Kill as the sole voice of riot grrrl)the world's loss is the gain of true fans who absolutely live through the music. I have been a fan since the release of "Real Janelle" and wonder how I ever survived otherwise. The poppy hooks and sound belie political commentary on gender and society.

Fave lyric: "You got your new clothes and new friends to match. And too many dishes and a boyfriend, what a catch. Ladies doing noting, what a claim to fame"--Flavor of the month club.

4.0 out of 5 stars THE GIRLS ARE BACK IN TOWN!, November 7, 2000

I have to admit I was a little skeptical picking this one up at the store. It's been a long time since Bratmobile's amazingly simple and simply amazing debut "Pottymouth" came out. But I sure am glad I did!

This album packs a punch, especially the very fast and furious "It's Common (But We Don't Talk About It)". The sounds are more complex (hey, eight additional years of practice!), but the songs are just as strong as anything they've ever done!

If you've ever liked this band, you will want to buy this! If you've never heard them before, but like bands like The Donnas or Sleater-Kinney, then you will want to buy this!

5.0 out of 5 stars so so good, October 12, 2003

this is such a good album. it's a great return for the b-mob after a long absence.

there's a couple of songs that sound a little bit awkward but taken with the whole album, they fit perfectly. and the last four originial songs, excluding girlfriends don't keep, are some of their best songs.

get it now and you will listen to it only forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get this one., May 21, 2011
I love Bratmobile's sound. I heard someone else describe their surf guitars as threatening, and yeah, that works. some of the riffs just remind me of Wednesday Addams doing the Watusi with Lurch and that just puts a smile on my face. this album is more polished than Pottymouth, which is good cause you can understand the lyrics better. Bratmobile has some good things to say; it's really rather sad that this kind of music doesn't get made any more.

I don't care what anyone says about this album, I love it! I saw Bratmobile play in Madison, WI, and I've been hooked ever since. If you are new to Bratmobile, this is a good place to start.

I don't want it to change anyones opinion on these kick ass girls' talent.
