Forgotten masterpieces,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lady of the Barge (Short Story Index Reprint Series) (Hardcover)
All W.W. Jacobs' stories are masterpieces of comedy and sometimes terror. Tales of sailors, river life, poachers, written with wonderful wit and perception. Sunny, happy, books that are overdue for revival. Best-known for "The Monkey's Paw", but all his works - novels and short stories - are splendid, and fortunately there are plenty of them if you can find them. Try "Dixon's Return", or "Three at Table."
