Constant Trouble,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Lady and the Knight (Highland Brides) (Paperback)
I'm surprised Boden didn't die during some of his battles. The poor guy probably has more slashes than a cutting board. I enjoyed this book very much but I didn't give it 5 stars because I had trouble with all of the evil encounters. There were plenty of very amusing parts that made me chuckle but many that were also frustrating. This couple attracted trouble like magnets. For a knight who constantly felt he was a coward, I would sure like this "coward" on my side. I'm not much into sorcery and amulets, etc. but had I known how the story would go before I read it, I still would have purchased it. It is worth the read.

Lois Does It Again!!!,
By Lezlie J. Hansen (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lady and the Knight (Highland Brides) (Paperback)
Those of you unfamiliar with Lois Greiman's previous works, her "Highland" trilogy in particular, are in for a wonderful treat with The Lady and the Knight. Not only will you laugh and sigh and cry, you will be searching out the rest of the Forbes clan as quickly as you can!! Let me be of assistance--Highland Jewel, Highland Flame and Highland Wolf.Ms. Greiman has a sense of humor that will leave you smiling long after you've turned the pages and an extraordinary gift for breathing life into all her characters--from the swaggering hero and determined heroine to the wary children and a mischievous goat. (You'll have to read it. I'm not telling. <g>) Have fun!!!

Romance readers can't afford to miss this one,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Lady and the Knight (Highland Brides) (Paperback)
In 1516 Scotland, a sickly Lord Haldane sends his thane Sir Baden Blackbade to London to escort the man's former lover, Lady Caroline, their illegitimate child (his only heir), and her cousin Lady Sara to the safety of Cinderhall. When Baden arrives, he learns that he is too late because the lady and her child had already fled the city. Baden soon finds the corpse of Caroline and another woman. Sara thinks that Haldane's men did the dastardly deed. Soon, Baden catches up to Sara and the charge she has sworn to keep safe. Remembering the death bed message of Caroline, Sara does not trust the knight even as she finds herself very attracted to him. Baden finds himself desiring the intrepid guardian, who he constantly rescues even as she continually betrays him in order to keep her little charge safe. However, the long and winding road is dangerous with their love being the strongest weapon they posses to help keep them alive so that they can obtain a safe haven to explore a future together. Like the magic of the Dragonheart that introduces and links Shona, Rachel, and Sara in THE LADY AND THE KNIGHT's opening chapter, the first novel in the "Highland Brides" trilogy is a magical medieval romance that will thrill fans of the sub-genre. The story line is crisp and makes for a facile, but fun reading experience, and the lead protagonists are a lovely couple, especially when they argue, fuss, and fight. After perusing this book, fans will impatiently await Lois Greiman's next two books (the stories of Shona and Rachel) to be released. Harriet Klausner
