Book Description

November 6, 2008
LADY KNIGHT [Erotic Historical Romance ] Saxon Lady Ariel of Elmstead disguises herself as a boy and leads her father's men to battle the Norman invaders. Her goal is to find the Norman knight who left her with child the year before. The only clue she has to his identity is the ring he gave her. During the battle of Hastings, Broc St. Ceneri takes a young Saxon boy as his hostage. The boy so resembles the Saxon girl he can't forget, Broc offers to train him as a knight after he is granted Elmstead as his own. With Broc unable to see through her disguise, Ariel must decide whether to risk all by revealing her secret, or say nothing and let the man she loves wed another. *** "Lady Knight is the story of a woman who takes her destiny into her own hands, and is brave enough to walk in a man's world during a time when a woman was not considered a man's equal. Ariel proves a woman can handle a sword as well as any man, and makes no apologies for it." ~ Marisa ~ *** 5 Stars: "Delightful Romance... I savored every word of Lady Knight. Ariel is a strong character. She not only fought beside seasoned warriors, she led them. She achieved the status of Knighthood, and yet was feminine enough to capture the heart of a Knight. Beautifully written, sensual, heartwarming, Lady Knight is sure to please fans of medieval romance." -- Debra Gaynor, Review Your Book *** 5 Hearts: "Ms. Chenery has written a great story with two lovable characters that at times I would have liked to shake. Ariel is a strong heroine that takes a stand for what she believes. She proves a woman can do anything a man can in a time when a woman was considered beneath men. And Broc is handsome, strong, and loyal but so stubborn and blind to what is right in front of his face. The trials these two suffer through are at times overwhelming, but they struggled through it all, including war, a disturbed evil man, being sold into slavery, and even being kidnapped. I would recommend this one to anyone looking for an excellent historical that will keep them on the edge of their seats, biting their nails or even itching to shake someone. I loved it." -- Sandra, The Romance Studio.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lady Knight, December 30, 2008
This review is from: Lady Knight (Paperback)
Lady Ariel of Elmstead met the man of her dreams and let things go a little too far during their chance meeting. While the outcome of the encounter left her with child, she is not completely unhappy with the event. Though she is out to prove that the father definitely misjudged this Saxon Lady. She has long known that she is a bit of a natural fighting with a sword, while the Saxons in general prefer the battle ax. She studies and becomes proficient enough to lead her father's men during the Norman invasion, though she is disguised as a boy, many can see through this disguise. Will her mysterious Norman Knight? At the Battle of Hastings she meets up with the one man she thought she might never see again outside of her dreams. But Broc St. Ceneri, Norman Knight and friend of the new King is suddenly drawn to the Saxon who reminds him of the woman of his dreams.

Broc trains the Saxon boy and even Knights him, still unaware that Ariel and the boy are the same person. In fact, he even takes a wife when Ariel does not willingly reveal her secret. But, will they ever become a couple or are they destined to be star crossed lovers?

Lady Knight was an intriguing and fast paced story. I was surprised how much Ms. Chenery put into one small tale. Lady Knight also spent a bit of time talking about the differences between the Normans and Saxons, some of which including the treatment of serfs I had not thought of before and I found it intriguing. Lady Knight is the definite star-crossed lovers' story with the twist of a woman in a male role at the turn of the first century. I thoroughly enjoyed lady knight and was pulled into the story from the beginning. If you are a fan of medieval romances then you will thoroughly enjoy Lady Knight.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad., December 6, 2009

Not bad. Not bad. I enjoyed the character conflictions. It was a little slow at the beginning, but once the characters got back together it picked up and recaptured my attention. I wouldn't label this as erotic.

I really liked it. Too much in some parts, too little in others. But overall very good read. Worth getting.
