Lady of the Spice Lands - music for relaxation, massage, yoga, for the love of music...

As a yoga teacher and massage therapist I highly recommend "Lady of the Spice Lands". I was first introduced to Chris's beautiful CD by one of my yoga students. I played it at class the day she loaned it to me. It was a hit with my students (and massage clients) from the start! Flowing easily from one song to the next, "Lady of the Spice Lands" carries the listener to a faraway place free from stress. Few CD's in my collection can move me to flow through a massage like this one-it's a keeper!

"Lady of the Spice Lands" is one of my favorite gifts to give. I enjoy sharing fresh and lovely music.

This is beautifully rendered acoustic guitar. The feeling here is peaceful but the moods are complex. You can engage it at whatever level you want. Put it on while doing some chores and the work will seem less strenuos. Sit back with a glass of wine and listen intently and you will find complex harmonies and intricate melodies that weave a tapestry even between tracks. I use it for meditation and yoga because it never demands attention but holds whatever level of attention I want to give it. I have been getting this CD for friends as gifts because it seems to appeal to people of a wide variety of musical tastes.

The magical music on this CD will touch the very core of your soul. Brenne's fingers dance over the strings, creating sounds that could only be created by a master guitarist. The songs are beautiful pieces of work; truly inspiring. I use this CD as an accompaniment to my work commute, background music for dinner parties (both group dinners and private dinners for two ;-), and as part of my meditation.

I look forward to more offerings from this artist. Give yourself the gift of this music. You'll be happy you did.

The music on the CD is beautifully surprising, and provides a mix of serenity and intensity that are perfect for meditative exercise. These beautiful guitar sounds are also seductive and sensual, making the CD ideal for a romantic evening. I have used this CD over and over for meditation exercises and for Yoga, and I have come to rely on "Lady of the Spice Lands" for these purposes.

Track 1, "Awakenings," enveloped me from the start, with its meditative quality and beautiful tones. "After Dreams" is some of the most precise and yet spontaneous guitar playing I've heard. Later in 10, "The Maiden and the Hunchback" gives me a sense of joy, humor and warmth. I love this music.

Chris Brenne is a gem about to be discovered. His guitar playing and song-writing is eclectic, with undertones of Latin, pop, Classical, and Eastern sounds. There is something for everyone in this CD. You will not be disappointed.

This is a great acoustic guitar record. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys acoustic guitar finely played. The pieces are varied and focus on exquisite flowing melodic ideas. Chris Brenne's formidable technique does not overpower the beautiful intricacies of his compositional ideas, but instead serves the demands of each piece. The result is a record that has an integrity that attends to musicality first and foremost - sensitive, serene and strong playing.

Chris has cuaght the essence of yoga with one guitar. His instrumental pieces on Lady of the Spice Lands leave you relaxed, refreshed, and energized. You can enter this music from many directions and it will take you to new familiar places, like an old friend who keeps re-inventing himself.

I bought this cd for my husband who is a massage therapist. It's one of his favorites. Clients enjoy it also. It has a variety of styles that are wonderful variations for guitar.

This CD truly embodies relaxation and a love for pure sound. As a massage therapist, Lady of the Spice Lands is one my favorites to use when working. I also have one at home just for me. The transitions are seamless, taking me and my clients on a journey of rich and deep textures while feeling light at the same time.

Lady of the Spice Lands...Wow. Taking time to lay back and listen to the CD over the weekend, I was lead on a journey of the emotions. Initially, the touchstones were longing and love and loss...and the next time...joy, light travel, and desire. Since then I listen to the CD often and discover more each time. Thank you for such a rich offering of music.

The tunes on this CD will go right to your soul. It's incredible guitar playing, beautiful composition, and all around good listening. You can listen intently, or play it as soothing background music during dinner with friends. It's the perfect CD for massage or acupuncture treatments - soft, relaxing, and truly good music. Aren't you tired of those synthesized rainforest sounds? I'd take this guitar CD over new-age electronica anyday!! Enjoy!
