5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent December 1, 2010
Format:Unknown Binding
I really loved this book, in fact, I've highlighted so much in the book you can't hardly tell the book from the highlights. I would recommend this book to all single women who are waiting for that special someone (Boaz) to come along. This books teaches you to live while the wait is upon you and allow God to grow you into maturity so that you can be ready for the Mr. Right.

EXCELLENT BOOK and should be a must read for all women.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for all women March 29, 2011

I absolutely love this book. I read it while dating and recommend it to everyone I know. Whether you're single, dating or married this is a great book to read. I have used this book as a study with teenage girls at our church, and I never get tired of reading it over and over again. It's a great reminder of what roles God is to play in our life and what role our husbands play in our lives. Before you're ready to find the man God has for your, focus on the woman God wants you to be. Lady in Waiting goes through the different virtues of Ruth in the Bible, and helps you develop those virtues in yourself.

This book is great for single women. I have read the book twice myself and have given it as a gift to several single friends. It's great for anyone who is wondering where Mr. Right is and really helps us focus instead on how to become a woman worth waiting for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book May 30, 2012
Format:Unknown Binding
From the time I was very young I dreamed about getting married and having kids. To most I'm still considered young, but I had hoped to be in a very different place by now. After many years of being depressed over my situation, wondering the typical what's wrong with me, and even at one point saying I give up hope completely. Then I read this book. I have done a complete 180 from where I was before. I'm so much more at peace and everything in my life. I'm focusing on God's will for my life, not just my own silly plans.

There are stories of women in the book who are still single, and others who have been given the gift of marriage. This book tries to make you focus on feeling complete in your relationship with Jesus and not focusing on what relationships you do or don't have.

I feel this book was very well written, and used a lot of scripture to back up the writing in there. While some people might be disappointed by it, I encourage you to pray before you read the book and let God show you what He wants to show you in the book rather than simply reading words written by human authors. It isn't the Bible, but ask God to help you get what He wants you to get out of it like you might when you read a chapter or a verse is my suggestion.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the Gospel May 20, 2012
Format:Unknown Binding
I am going to be really honest first of all, and say that I didn't finish this whole book. I felt like a lot of what it was saying was not consistent with the message of the gospel. I had a particular problem with Chapter 2. This chapter states that single women have MORE time to give to the LORD. Umm... no. Sorry. I think this should be offensive to married people and single people alike. As a married person, you are less devoted to the Lord? No! As a single person you are just wasting you time away waiting for your future partner to snatch you up. In the meantime, why not get closer to the Lord? NOOOO!!!! To me you should be seeking Him regardless. I was looking for some kind of comfort and I wanted to read what the scripture says about singleness. What I got was how to bide my time. It just did not meet my expectations. My other issue is that one of the chapters starts out with the story of how this MARRIED woman with KIDS is so busy running from one place to another and dealing with gross things... so should I be GLAD to be single.I just felt like they were rubbing it in. Like a person who is really thin complaining because they have a hard time finding clothes. This really hurt me. I would love to be married with kids. I pray fervently for it. I am glad for this time in my life because that is where LORD wants me, not because it is easier. I am just have a hard time with someone who has what I want so badly telling me to be glad I don't have it. I actually think it is a little insensitive. I probably should have bought a different devotional more about learning to accept the season of my life. I did not buy that though. I bought this one, and had my feelings hurt.

I also want to state that I am aware I am the only nutcase to give this book a low rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for July 13, 2011

What is to walk in purity? She says it so well.
"...To walk in purity, you must guard the key to your heart. This means that you focus on growing in friendship, not in romance...when I do spend time with a guy, I don't refer to it as dating. I talk about "frienship-building" founded on Christ - The One who holds my heart and guides the friendship." Page 85-88)
