3.0 out of 5 stars More of the same
I was disappointed in this book. I was looking forward to reading this book after reading "A Year on Ladybug Farm", but I found this book predictable and boring.

4.0 out of 5 stars fine drama, October 10, 2009
One year has gone by since Lindsay Wright, Cici Burke and Bridget Tindale left Baltimore to relocate and start over on Blackwell Farms in the Shenandoah Valley. The place was a dump, but the three single women worked hard; assisted but at times distracted by their grumpy housekeeper Ida Mae; Cici's 20-year-old daughter Lori who fled a California college to come "home", and fifteen years old Noah Clete.

Now the farm has undergone much renovation and revealed some of its history to its current residents. They know what happened during the Civil War as this farm and its neighbor were home to battles and occupations. It was turned into winery, a cheesy creamery, and a WWII refugee camp. Now Ladybug Farm is home to another generation of misfits.

Using flashbacks to tell the history enhances a warm tale of love and friendship as Donna Ball informs her audience what happened to those and more who spent A YEAR ON LADYBUG'S FARM. The cast is solid as each still struggles with what they want, but have come a long way baby from where they were especially the trio of Maryland expatriates. Fans will enjoy the return visit to the three single women and their three "wards" as fans will feel AT HOME ON LADYBUG FARM.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great sequel!, December 23, 2009

Having read "A Year on Ladybug Farm" and loved it, I was delighted to read the sequel - it's just as good (which doesn't always happen, unfortunately). I'd recommend both books to anyone who enjoys a good read and marvelous characters. Hope there will be another Ladybug book soon.

Perfect reading. It is enjoyable by itself but by reading the first book you get into the reason these are doing what they are doing. I just hope this is not the end and there will be more about them from Ms, Ball. Loved both of them.

I enjoyed this sequel even more than the first book. The flashbacks brought the history of the home to life and tied the story together better. More successes than failures with the home improvements also kept the book a little more upbeat.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun read and great sequel, November 30, 2009
This is crisp, engaging, well-paced storytelling that drew me in, made me laugh out loud, and had me rooting for every character--two or four-legged--as they collectively faced their challenges. As Lindsey, Cici, and Bridget open their hearts to Lady Bug Farm, working feverishly to restore its grandeur, Lady Bug Farm yields up a fascinating history that eventually unites them all.

At Home on Lady Bug Farm would make a fabulous movie. Hollywood, are you listening....?

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful continuation....., August 20, 2011

A delightful continuation of "A year on Lady Bug Farm. I laughed, cried and identified with the 3 "ladies." Story moves fast, but encompasses all their feelings. I get lost in their day to day trials and tribulations and can't wait to get back to the story. I have also read "Love Letters." I was disappointed when I finished the book, I wanted more!! I do hope there is a fourth book in the works. All 3 books are a "must" read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable reading, July 7, 2011

Have enjoyed all three Ladybug books for summer reading. Thrilled there's a story, identifiable 50ish women, and not filled with foul language that current fiction thinks everyone wants or needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars continued great read, June 18, 2011
Old houses with subtle mysteries are wonderful to read about. And this one certainly fits that description. The first of this series was a joy to read and so was this second sequel. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that Noah's family heritage was not completely explained or discovered--I'm hoping that his complete parentage will come to light in the the third book. The three main ladies continued to be wonderful to read about and Lori was depicted as such a typical young and likable college student. Several humorous incidents had me chuckling for quite a spell. It was indeed a pleaure!

A wonderful book! Donna Ball tells a delightful story about 3 women who are good friends and who find themselves at a turning point in their lives. Paperback edition was lightweight and convenient. I'm looking forward to the sequels!

4.0 out of 5 stars Continuing On At Ladybug Farm, June 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It was fun to follow the lives of the three women who purchased
this old farm. To see the changes in their lives and the changes
in the farm. All the crazy and funny things they went through.
I love the relationships and how they played out.
The old lady who "Comes with the house". She comes with
all her wisdom and stories about the 106 year old house. The teenager
who is living on their property but they don't know it.
I especially loved when the sheared the sheep to early and
had to go to the thrift store to buy coats and scarfs for them
as it was to cold!
It is a fun read and I am looking forward to the last
of the three books.

I have decided to pass this on to my "Two Best Friends" whom
I could see living on a farm with me. And having just as many
crazy animal antics and adventures!

So pour yourself a cold glass of ice tea or lemonade,
climb into a comfy chair and read.
