I had just recently blogged about our homeschooling life, how I teach and explain whenever the opportunities arises. Anyway, my review for the iPad app version is as below...

What's good?
* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!
* I like the storyline where it tells how the life of a ladybug in hunting for food and also defending itself from predators.
* I used the opportunity in this book to teach my 3 year old son about the body parts of a ladybug, how it hunts for food and also defends itself from predators.
* The illustration is beautiful and quite life-like!

Room for Improvement?
* I would prefer if the word that pops out when we touched it comes with the audio sound as currently only the text word pops out.
* I would to see a diagram of the life cycle of a ladybug!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction to nature for small children January 1, 2013

Though this appeared to be a very slick product and a lot was expected since it has the Smithsonian name stamped on it, it didn't have as much interaction as I would have liked. Most books out there have the "touch the object to hear the name". It was more of a "still" story book feel. The artwork is probably one of the top attractions and worthy of the Smithsonian name. Just not sure what age group this was targeting.
