This book is excellent! My 18 month-old niece loves it! The story about the cute little ladybug is wonderful and my niece has to read this book everynight before bed!

Beautiful simple and bright picture in which children will love finding the ladybug. An old childhood favorite I can share with my grandkids.

I mean seriously, why would you read a book to kids with this subject matter? The ladybug's friends say: "Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly away home. Your house is on fire; The children all gone." Really? You want your kids to think about their house burning up and being separate from their mother? At bedtime? And when she flies home, she finds the children all nestled in their bed. So the lesson is that her friends lied to her? In order to scare her or what? Sorry, this is a beautifully illustrated book but I do not understand why you'd read this to children who understand what you're saying.

I love this book! My little 2-year-old loves it too. Such a cute little story and the illustrations are gorgeous. I checked this out from the library but I love it so much that I'm buying it, and I'm quite picky when it comes to buying children's books. There are so many of them out there but I want only the highest quality taking up valuable space on my child's bookshelf.

House on fire? And children gone? Not a pleasant storybook topic for children. Too bad because the illustrations are very nice. Just can't get past the subject matter.
