5.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack where Pop/Rock meets common scoring.
I fell in love with the movie the first time I saw it. Now, the same has happened when I first listened the movie's soundtrack-album. 2.0 out of 5 stars Ladyhawke does not fly!!!
I have a lot of respect for Alan Parsons musically,I know however when someone is simply collecting a paycheck when I hear it. I love the film "Ladyhawke" But Parson's soundtrack spoils the film from the beginnig...It opens with a rock song (ala eye of the tiger) that is typical canned rock that makes me glad it isn't the 80's anymore...Never mind the movie is...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack where Pop/Rock meets common scoring., August 23, 1998
This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I fell in love with the movie the first time I saw it. Now, the same has happened when I first listened the movie's soundtrack-album. Composer Andrew Powell has teamed up with producer Alan Parsons and many of his fellow musicians from The Alan Parsons Project to create one of the best soundtracks ever heard. The music is a mixture between powerful 'rock' instrumentals which sound remarkably like APP, and a more common orchestral score, which is capable of expressing the different moods of the film (from dangerous, sad, to extremely romantic) extremely well. Furthermore, there are some really medieval sounding tracks on this CD, e.g. a gregorian chant. This music lets the listener re-experience the film in the mind, with all of its moods. What more could one possibly want from a soundtrack?!? The only weak track is the last one: 'Ladyhawke Theme: Single Version'. This must have been included due to purely commercial reasons, but I personally don't like the track and think that the first track (Main Title) would be a much better single from this album. Wrapping up: This album is an absolute must for fans of the movie and APP-fans alike. All others are invited to give it a try: they won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars How could you not like this!, February 2, 2000
This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
When I first saw the movie, I fell in love with the movie and the music. Music has always been a major part of my life. I bought the sound-track on cassett as son as it hit the store. Then My husband bought me the movie. Both have capture my heart, and now our 13 year old son has fallen too. The cassett has been played so much that it wore out and now we have the CD. My favorite music is when the hawk flys over the lake.....it wish there was an entire score just for that track

5.0 out of 5 stars I was totally blown away!!!, September 24, 1999
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This album is a definite must for anyone who likes music (particularly for APP and Ladyhawke fans). Alan Parsons and Andrew Powell couldn't have done better in making a fantastical score to go along with a fantastic movie. This is music you can listen to at any time; it gets inside you. It was almost like I was actually experiencing the music, not just the sound. The feeling of the music was inside me. I would definitely recommend this album.

I am a huge fan of the film Ladyhawke and ever since I first saw it I fell in love with the music. I looked around for the CD for a long time and was thrilled when I finally found the soundtrack last year. I listen to it alot and find the music so inspiring and beautiful. 5.0 out of 5 stars Old favorite re-released, November 6, 2003

This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This was one of my favorite LPs. The Alan Parsons Project recorded some brilliant scores for the movie, but I most appreciated that the music stood alone. Unlike many soundtrack releases that are just a collection of disjointed "songs from the movie", this soundtrack held together.

4.0 out of 5 stars My guilty pleasure, September 23, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Although "Ladyhawke" is my favorite film from the 1980's sword-and-sorcery genre, the soundtrack, an uneasy hybrid of rock and traditional scoring, is the movie's weakest element. Yet, taken on its own merits, this CD has become one of my favorite "guilty pleasures." True, the rock elements are badly dated, and the orchestral writing, while it does has some inventive moments, is not top-drawer. But there's a goofy, earnest quality about it all that makes it perfect listening for those moments when this music major wants to shut his brain down for a while and avoid thinking about things, especially music, seriously. Don't get this CD if you're looking for great art-get it for entertainment value. (Of course, it helps if you have a weakness for 80's music.)

Andrew Powell and Alan Parsons have been working together since the 70's. This recording is an excellent marrage of action tracks and romantic music that follows the story directed by Richard Donnor of the Lethal Weapon fame. Watch the movie and then listen the Soundtrack. A must have for Alan Parsons fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, August 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, this cd is one of my favorites. The sound and variation in the music is great. This cd is produced and engineered by Alan Parsons, not performed by him. The symphony sound is there and it's clean and crisp. I really like it.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Electronics made to match medieval days, July 7, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Powell and Parsons amazingly make their electronic sound work, and work well with this medieval story of mysticism, love, and adventure. The real hallmark of its success as a soundtrack is that it supports and enhances the entire viewing experience without distracting the viewer.

The range of music from upbeat action to romantic tones are great. This is a great album to read, think, drive, and work to. Give it a listen!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for APP fans!, January 11, 1999
This review is from: Ladyhawke: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I just got on the Net and have been looking for this CD for years, ever since I saw the movie. While watching "Ladyhawke" I kept telling my wife that it sounded like APP, of that there could be no mistake. As the credits rolled my opinion was verifyed. Since that day I have sought out the soundtrack, since I have everything that APP has put out. I found it once on vinyl, but at that point I has long since abandoned my turntable in favor of the CD format. I'll be very pleased to hear this music again, coming from my stereo.
