About the Artist

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Phillipa "Pip" Brown, better known by her stage name Ladyhawke, is a New Zealand solo singer-songwriter, playing all the instruments in studio and touring with a band. She was formerly a part of the Wellington band Two Lane Blacktop named for the 1970s road movie of the same name. Before assuming the name Ladyhawke, she formed part of the Sydney duo Teenager with Nick Littlemore of Pnau. Ladyhawke named herself after the Rutger Hauer film Ladyhawke. Ladyhawke is best known for the 2008 single "Paris Is Burning", which she wrote after a visit to Paris.[3] Her debut album was released on Modular Recordings[4] in September 2008.

BEING ONE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE MANY PEOPLE MAKING THE SWITCH BACK TO VINYL, I WAS AGAIN HAPPY TO FIND A NEW RELEASE AVAILABLE ON VINYL LP. THANK YOU AMAZON FOR BEING A BIG PART OF VINYL'S RESURGENCE AND AVAILABILITY. NOW I MUST SAY, THE FIRST ALBUM ARRIVED THROWN IN A BOX, WITH A FEW "AIR BAGS" TOSSD ON TOP. THE BOX WAS QUITE DENTED ON THE SIDE, AND THE ALBUM/LP INSIDE HAD SEVERAL CREASES AND BENDS. I THEREFORE SUSPECT THAT ALTHOUGH THE OUTSIDE BOX HAD BEEN DENTED, THE ALBUM ITSELF HAD TO BE PACKED WITH SOME DEFECTS AS WELL BEFORE EVER BEING SHIPPED. OF COURSE, RETURNING IT FOR A REPLACEMENT WAS A BREEZE AND WITH AMAZON IT'S SUPER FAST AND VERY EASY. BEING ABLE TO DO IT ALL ON LINE, EVEN PRINTING OUT THE RETURN SLIP/RMA AND PRINTING A BOX LABEL, PLUS THE FACT THAT AMAZON WILL SHIP A REPLACEMENT IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE DAMAGED ITEM IS RETURNED, IT IS THIS KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT KEEPS ME COMING BACK TO AMAZON. THE REPLACEMENT ALBUM WAS MORE SECURELY PACKAGED ON A CARDBOAD BACK BOARD, AND ALTHOUGH THE REPLACEMENT VINYL LP IS QUITE WARPED, THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM DUE TO AMAZON BUT HAPPENS FROM TIME TO TIME WITH VINYL ALBUMS. IT DOES NOT AFFECT PLAYBACK (WARPED VINYL ALBUMS/LPS MAY BE A PROBLEM ON TODAY'S CHEAP USB TURNTABLES BUT NOT ON A HIGH END TURNTABLE, THEY PLAY FINE). I DIDN'T WANT TO RETURN IT FOR A SECOND TIME, AND AS THE OUTER ALBUM JACKET IS PERFECT, THE WARPING PART, AGAIN, IS NOT AN ISSUE ON MY TECHNICS TURNTABLE. AGAIN, THANK YOU AMAZON FOR STOCKING VINYL LP'S AND THANK YOU FOR HAVING SUCH A EASY AND FAST RETURN SYSTEM. I'LL KEEP SHOPPING HERE BECAUSE OF THAT. THIS IS ONE EXAMPLE THAT PROVES THAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE THIS IS SOMETHING NOT TO UNDERVALUE AND OTHER RETAILERS, BOTH ON AND OFF LINE COULD TAKE A LESSON FROM AMAZON ON JUST WHAT OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT.
