5.0 out of 5 stars Now this is the Blues, December 12, 1999

This review is from: Lady's Choice (Audio CD)
I found this on vinyl in the rejects bin not long after it was first released. I raved to anyone who would listen. Someone borrowed and "lost" the LP. I searched for it for years. I finally found it on CD. Imagine my delight! This lady can sing. She was one of the first great female rockers. She carried Delaney for years. Shades of Tina Turner! I once saw her on Canadian TV singing with a coal miners choir. She was fabulous. She is fabulous. I still cannot get enough of these songs. This is a collection where every song is worth the cost of the CD. If you like women singing the blues, if you like great women singers, if you like the blues, get this CD. Bonnie Bramlett, where are you now?

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the truly GREAT female voices in ROCK/SOUL MUSIC!!, April 17, 2002

I once had all of Bonnie Bramlett's albums. Trying to get them again. It's about time these Record Executives realize what a great singer is all about. ...It is pathetic that many people ...(who cannot sing) can get record deals, and gifted and truly great vocalists like Bonnie Bramlett are ignored. It seems the record companies are as shallow as the "talent" they sign up these days!!!

Bravo to Bonnie Bramlett. Keep on singing and let's get all her music on CD's!!!

This review is from: Lady's Choice (Audio CD)
I have waited for a long time to see this released on cd. It's one of my all time favorites. What a voice, what a selection of songs. If you like blues, strong and powerful, this is an excellent choice!

5.0 out of 5 stars 1st-rate covers of great material, March 5, 2000

Bonnie Bramlett was one of the greatest r&b vocalists of the '60s and '70s. This album catches her in top form singing from the heart (did she ever sing any other way?). Today's female vocalists could learn from Bonnie's heartfelt interpretations that there's more to singing then octave leaps and the same old melismas. Until then, here's the real thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of THE great singers of all time, February 21, 2000
This review is from: Lady's Choice (Audio CD)
I have all of Bonnie's solo and group material and this album is a killer! Now if we can convince the powers to be to remaster her other Capricorn LPS, I'll be thrilled.

BTW, Aeron, that was Rita McNeil singing with the coal miners, not Bonnie. The choir is called Men From The Deeps (NOT a typo).

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Album, July 31, 2006
This review is from: Lady's Choice (Audio CD)
Bonnie Bramlett is one of the most soulful female white singers in the planet. She vocally remind me of Janis Joplin and Tina Turner in the Ike Turner days. They don't make singers like this anymore. All these poptarts are dominating the airwaves. Lady Choice from the beginning to end is awesome. Bramlett gives her own interpretation of each song particularly on Think, Never Gone Give You Up, If I Was Your Woman, and Forever Young. She also does a fantastic version You Really Got a Hold On Me which she sung years later on the Roseanne show and totally stop the whole show. I can't wait to get my copy her new jazz CD which I know will be a great treat.
