Simplistic but Satisfying Read,
By Avid Reader (Atlanta, GA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lady's Hand (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoyed this novel although the plot was overly simplistic and quite predictable. The author does a good job of explaining why Rafe is so mistrusting of women, but at the same time I found it hard to believe that a man of his stature would marry a lady gambler that easily. The fact that her background never came up once she was married was hard to swallow. I also think it took too long for them to admit that they loved one another. All in all however I would recommend it as a fast easy read that will provide a few hours of enjoyment.

Brandy works on a riverboat to make money as a gambler to take care of her ill mother. Brandy always dreamed of a different life than the one she lives. Rafe never wanted to marry due to the fact that he witnessed his mother sleeping with another man and turned against all women. It basiclly killed his father. Rafe has alot of women after him for marriage, which he is not interested. Rafe meets Brandy in a poker game. Not wanting to give away the story, he askes Brandy to marry him and have his child and that is all he wanted from her.
I liked this book, I found it very easy to read, entertaining, and kept my attention.
