A loud knock shook the office door. Denotta jerked around. A woman’s silhouette wavered through the textured glass.
“Come in.”
The door swung open.
“Price Denotta?”
The woman crossed the room in a graceful glide. Her voice sounded low and husky, not what he would have expected from the dark-haired five-foot-four petite woman. She was attractive in an Ivy League sort of way—a business woman—mid-forties—self-assured—wealthy.
“At your service.” He stood and reached across the desk to meet her extended hand in a firm shake. “Won’t you have a seat?”
She complied, her black stockings making a sexy shushing noise when she crossed her legs.
“How can I help you Ms....?”
“Stedman. My husband is trying to kill me.”
Detective Vincent Price Denotta's life changes when he meets Rachael Stedman, his first client. The beautiful, dynamic woman is afraid for her life.
Or so she says.
She hires Denotta to prove her husband is trying to kill her and asks Price to move into her East Texas mansion and spy on her husband.
Denotta declines. The woman is poison, but he finds himself drawn to her in spite of his better judgment. He knows the woman is hiding something, and when he tries to discover what that something might be, he’s taken on a wild ride of deception and murder, where nothing is as it seems.
Lady's Game is a roller coaster ride of twists, turns, blind alleys, and sudden drops.
The novella was first published as a serial novel in the Bullard Banner and Snap News Magazine, along with the sequel, Queen’s Pawn. This edition is only available on Kindle. The beautiful model gracing the cover is Amanda Myers Beasley.
