This review is from: Lafayette (Revolutionary War Leaders) (Paperback)
Every school year, I'm on the lookout for biographies that will interest my boys.
I have a great interest in the Founders, so I like to read the kids' biographies, too. And this year, we're looking at Lafayette - very interesting liberty-loving French man and American Revolutionary War hero.
Reading level is above 4th grade. Details on the nobility in France and their obligations to the peasantry, Lafayette's role in the Revolutionary War, his friendship with Washington, his imprisonment during the French Revolution - all with good photographs and illustrations.
Glossary words include: bayonet, dysentery, nobility, peninsula, treaty, zealous. Book includes a chronology, a notes section, and a very good index. Great book.
