Other than the lacing, the chairs held up well.

They appear to be very well made and we think (and hope) that they will last for several years!

The "clipper" system seems like it might well solve that problem.

My girlfriend could only lay down or recline on zero gravity when she was injured and had spine surgery. I found this chair online and it is light enough I could carry it in the car and help her to have a chair to sit in comfortably when we went out to an event or to a friend's house. This chair was so wonderful to have and is used so often. Many friends have tried it and enjoyed it and at least two have ordered their own based on trying this one. It is well made, comfortable, light to carry or load in the car. I also bought and added the drink tray which is helpful.

There are many kinds of chairs that sort of look like this one but this model has the clips and also has the mesh to breathe so it doesn't get too hot. In fact it can feel cool sitting in winter so my friend puts a blanket or a heating pad sometimes under or over and that works great. For heat, this chair breathes really well.

Thumbs up! It is well worth buying.

This is the third LaFuma chair which I have purchased; this time as a gift. I bought the first chair at Costco, and used them for about 12 years before the elastic cording in them gave out, likely to sun damage as well as age. I had my upholsterer re-lace the chairs with bungee cord, but that did not hold up very well, so I bit the bullet and forked out the money for a new chair. These chairs are a tad overpriced, even though I do like them. Other than the lacing, the chairs held up well.
This chair costs more than similar chairs; however, it is well worth it for the way in which it fits the body as it reclines. This is the most comfortable outdoor chair that I have ever sat in. In fact, it is more comfortable than my nice Barcalounger recliners, and I have been in the furniture and design business for 22 + years. If the chair were a little more stylish looking, I would use it in my family room. I highly recommend this chair to anyone, and especially to anyone who has back pain.
One caveat: if anyone who is especially large or heavy will be sitting in this chair, it will likely not wear well due to the elastic lacing or clips holding the fabric to the chair. They do make an extra large size, however.

It is comfortable, but it doesn't stay in the reclining position very well. It creeps to the sitting position. So it has a flaw.
