The solutions provided here are both clear and thorough. And they present some handy tricks and techniques.
I highly recommend this book for anyone studying Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Mechanics, particularly if they are using it for self study. My only complaint was that in the main text, the exercise set for chapter 3 begins by instructing the reader to repeat a number of the exercises from chapter 2 using the new methods presented in the current chapter. I found this extremely worthwhile, but was disappointed to see that the chapter 3 style solutions for these problems were not included in this book. Otherwise, excellent. |
