This review is from: Laing ACT-909 Tankless pump-No return line required! (Misc.)
After a couple of years using an ACT-303 I had to upgrade to an ACT-909 to work with my new tankless water heater. The ACT 909 worked for a couple of days and then stopped. I followed through all of the troubleshooting and determined there is a problem with the check valve that allows water to flow across from the hot side to cold side & then closes when up to temp. I was finally able to talk to a tech at Laing ITT (after many tries to get a real person) to confirm that was the likely problem but I was directed to followup for warranty from the seller. My email to myplumbingstuff via Amazon about a potential replacement went unanswered. I tried the 800 number for myplumbingstuff but was never able to reach a real person. I think the Autocirc pumps are good products I'm just disappointed in the lack of service......

This version of the ACT-909 is for retrofit installations. No return line needed.
I installed an ACT-909 a year or so ago, after we had a tankless water heater installed in the 3rd floor attic. Because it was inconvenient to install at the farthest location of the new part of our house, on the 2nd floor just beyond the shower, I installed it on the first floor beneath the shower. I don't know how our plumbing is run, but the ACT-909 works well in this configuration. The shower used to take a long time to get hot. Now it's hot within 5 - 10 seconds. We are happy. The unit is completely silent and vibration free. I haven't bothered with the timer, so I am sure we are wasting money there. I am buying a second ACT-900 for the old part of the house which has the same long lag in receiving hot water on the first floor kitchen.

After a week working fine, there was a horrible knocking noise and several leaks. Repaired the leaks. The knocking persisted, even after performing all the recommendations to remove air in the pipes. The seller sent me to deal with the manufacturer who eventually returned my call. Their tech was on vaca, so they let me speak to the production manager. He totally hooked me up with a replacement.
