Beware: its not a big budget TV Serie like "The Vampire Diaries" but it has his own charme, created by Fred Olen Ray.
The show is produced by a small gay/lesbian themed TV Studio. Sound and Picture of the DVD are well , the stories are interesting and shows a lot skin.

I expected better storylines and acting by season 3, but what can I say? It is a fun series to watch, but almost seems like it has the production values of a 70's low budget porn move, as well as the same writers. A shame because Dantes Cove is so much better! I really hope the next season gets better, or even more, I hope that they will do another season of Dantes Cove!

Although the series in itself is still a little campy, it is still fun to watch. It doesn't hurt that the entire cast is hot!

Number 3 is the best. The actors are learning to really act - not just read and pose. Seems like the stories were more focused too. The gorgon character was something different - and the actor did not need magic powers to turn me to stone. Still just a fun and shameless way to spend an evening.

I like both Dante's Cove and The Lair and both for different reasions. The focus of Dante's Cove is the occult and includes gay and lesbian characters. The Lair is almost all about gay guys. Season three of the Lair is the best yet. It's all about gay vampires and other supernature things. It has good looking guys, full nudity and gay sex. The addition of Steven Hirschis is a welcome addition. He is soooo hot and his character is very interesting and different. Also he and Frankie Valenti make a cute couple. This is a two dvd set and has 13 episodes. I could have done without the female vampire character, but was nice seeing Sybil Danning still acting. And just like Dante's Cove and the night time soaps the season finale always leaves you hanging with multiple story lines left in the air. I certainly hope Season 4 will be shown on Logo in the near future and then released on dvd.

One of those series from the gay network that tries to be mystery yet shows a LOT of gratuitous nudity. The plot is decent and the acting is pretty good (at least half of the cast is from gay porn).

I had heard of this show but never seen it, I'd seen some still pictures but hadn't heard much about it, so I decided to see it for myself. Great cast and great production values, always kept me on the edge of my seat. The eye candy factor is superb, too. I'm so glad that I got to see the entire series, finally, and will enjoy watching again!

The Lair is very soap operish with bad acting but it's one of my guilty pleasures. I totally got into the first season just for the eye candy and tolerated the acting. The storyline is a good one though and if you like horror then you'll be pleased with where it goes. The third installment, however, could have been better.

The third (and apparently final) season of "The Lair" is the best. Creator-writer-director Fred Olen Ray has cleared the series of its literal "dead weight." Matty Ferraro as wimpy wherewolf Ian , Beverly Lynne as the pointless character Laura, and stupid doctor Jake with the possessed plant, are thankfully gone. The performances are sharper, especially David Moretti as Thom, and the storyline is engrossing. Best of all, Brian Nolan returns as "ghost" Frankie, who offers pithy commentary on the sexy and supernatural plots. Frankie humorously refers to vampire lord Damien (Peter Stickles) as a "rebel without a coffin." Season 3 picks up six months after the conclusion of Season 2. Thom seeks a mysterious ring that will protect him from supernatural influences; especially the overpowering influence of Damien. Thom's quest has far-reaching, unanticipated reprecussions. Thom's ex-ex-boyfriend Ritchie (Bobby Quinn Rice) brings Damien's rival Colin (Dylan Vox) back from the dead. Colin immediately establishes a new base of operations. But Colin is the least of Damien's troubles. Damien must suffer the wrath of the vengeful Frau Von Hess (Sybil Danning). There is also Athen (Steven Hirschi), a male Gorgon who, with one look, turns his victims into stone statues. Adult film legend Ron Jeremy even makes a brief appearance in episode nine. Sheriff Trout (Colton Ford), who inexplicably has regained his sight after being blinded in Season 2, has the only storyline that doesn't make any sense. Season 3 stays fairly, but firmly, focused on the complicated relationship between Thom and Damien. Moretti and Stickles have fantastic chemistry together as their characters struggle to discover if romance and true love between a sexy mortal man and an equally sexy vampire is possible. |
