Product Description

Can a warrior who has lost the use of his legs save a wee innocent lass with exceptional blue eyes?

Laird Donan Glenncannon and his brother Shancy come across a crudely given auction where the innocent Analise is being sold to the highest bidder by her evil stepbrother. Donan cannot take his eyes off Analise and he knows that he wants to save her. But he is only a crippled man living in a chair with wheels. He was felled on the Crusades and his legs no long hold him strong. At first glance Analise is drawn to the strong presence of Donan, even as he sits in his strange chair with wheels. But Analise sees past his crippled legs to the man, and even though she is a simple lass, her love is strong. The chase is on when Donan steals Analise away and Shancy is sent to rescue Analise's sister Cheval.

Two strong warrior knights find passion through the strength of their courage.

2.0 out of 5 stars Heroine is too flighty, September 27, 2011

This review is from: Lairds of the Eagle (Kindle Edition)
Lairds of the Eagle suffers from a heroine who is flighty and impulsive. The hero was unique, a Knight who lost the use of his legs.

Analise the heroine in this novella spots Donan at her step-brother's home. She falls in love with him on sight and I mean on sight. She never has a conversation with him but knows he is the one for her before they are even introduced. She despises her step-brother who is intent on selling her to the highest bidder in marriage.

She manages to escape with Donan and his brother Shancy. Donan has a special saddle which allows him to ride. He also has a wheelchair too. Analise tells Shancy she has a sister in a convent nearby who is at the mercy of her step-brother. Shancy, being a noble Knight, sets off to rescue Analise's pregnant sister.

Analise and Donan must hide from her brother and immediately Analise is clamoring to bed Donan. He spends most of his time holding her off. Donan wonders what kind of life he could provide for Analise, although he is a Laird with means and he can father children.

Much of this book consists of Analise trying to lure Donan into bed and Donan fighting her advances. She does not come across as overly intellectual nor does she listen very well. Her sister is a little more intelligent but she is quick to act on her sexual urges too. The plot for this novella is thin and the characters with the exception of Donan and his brother were not that engaging.

I couldn't get into this book it wasn't for me. The plot sounded very promising it wasn't for me. Now although it's not a bad story Analise was turning me off she was soooooooooooooooooooooooo eager like seriously annoying eager to please. Sometimes it's not a bad thing to be like that but it didn't work for me in this storyline.R
