Queensbridge takes the crown, as far as compilations go.,

This album is q.b. finest part II, but better. It's got all the tight Queens rappers you would expect and some fresher, hungrier 41st side reps(Bars N Hooks,Killa Sha, and Littles from IMD just to name a few). It starts off with a tight collabo by Havoc, Littles, and Nature on "Cardboard Box".Lake Lucianno drops a gem called "Crushed Linen" over 1 of 3 Alchemist joints on the album. The other 2 ALchemist song may be the slickest 2 songs on the album "Let Em' Hang" by Nas & Lake and another banger featuring nore,Lake, capone, and Cormega.Prodigy,Ammo, and Tragedy Khadafi have a banger called "Get Back" in which Prodigy shoots a few lyrical darts in the R.O.C's direction.Yo, the 14 kutz on this album are definetely worth the price of admission so you gotta cop this.Young dudes like Bars n Hooks shine on 2 songs, same with Littles who you might remember from the freestyle on h.n.i.c. Tragedy's man Killa Sha produces and rhymes over two hot tracks,I was waitin to hear some new 2-5.Damn,I almost forgot, another one of the best cuts is 'the LEGEND' CRAIG G on a joint called DOIN U'. I give this album 5 star compilation rating because their is no filler and Landspeed Records is doin' their thing (I hope this one as well recieved by the underground as The Realness[Cormega]is.If you ain't got that yet you should do so.And if you don't know the best album of 2001 goes to------TRAGEDY KHADAFI "Against All Odds"

CLASSIC Compilation from QB,

This review is from: Lake Entertainment Presents: 41st Side (Audio CD)
This is one of my all time favorite CD's, in my top 10-15 rap albums of the 700 or so I own. Lake is on 5 of the 14 songs. Only one song on here is skippable but it's still ok. Has a good number of classic songs (about 4 of them) and some great songs and the rest are good. Feautures the Queensbridge rappers that everyone should know and love as well as some tight beats - real hardcore gangsta rap - not no watered down candy @$$ commercial hip-POP that pollutes the airwaves. Production is handled by Havoc, A Dog, Goodie Goodman, and UNo Dos (all do 1 song), Killah Shah does 2, and Artillery and ALCHemist aboth do 4 songs. A must have album for any rap fan - you WILL NOT BE DISAPPONTED!!!
#2 - 9.5 (Havoc, Nature, Littles, The Jackal -- tight beat) #4 - 6 (Lake - my least favorite on here) #5 - 10 (classic by Big Noyd & A. Dog -- greatt beat) #6 - 10 (classic by: Killah Shah -- great beat) #7 - 9 (Germ & Artillery -- nice beat) #8 - 8 (Bars, Hooks, Don Alon, Chinky) #10 - 9.5 (Nas, Lake & V-12 -- nice beat) #12 - 8.5 (Littles, Wiz, Blitz (pop), Germ, Jungle, Faul Monday, Lake, Prodigy) #13 - 9.5 (Mr. Challish, Faul Monday, Killah Shah --- nice beat) #15 - 10 (classic by: Craig G f/ Voice -- tight beat) #16 - 10 (classic by: Cormega, Noreaga, Capone, Lake -- tight beat) #17 - 9 (Prodigy, tragedy Khadafi, Ammo) #18 - 9.5 (Blitz (Pop) & Lake - a story about 2 different perspectives - great song) #20 - 8 (Bigga Du, Fly Tye, Hooks, Don Alon) ""also check out "One Never KNows" by Lake & Nas --- it's HOT"" QUEENSBRIDGE!!!!! ------ QBC check all my reviews

QB's Finest,
This review is from: Lake Entertainment Presents: 41st Side (Audio CD)
I like a lot of QB artists, so this was a perfect album for me. Anyone who likes New York hardcore rap will love this album. Here is a song by song breakdown:Cardboard Box (5 out of 5)-Havoc produces this track featuring himself, Jackal, Littles, and Nature. Hav and Nate have the best verses and this track features a great beat. Top notch. Crush Linen (5/5)-Lake spits over an Alchemist produced track. Although I had never heard Lake before, he is a good MC and this is one of the better solo tracks on the album. Pain (5/5)- Noyd (a personal favorite of mine) and A. Dog each get a verse on this track also produced by A. Dog. This song features great lyrics, MCing, and production. My favorite track on the album. Do My Thang (3.5/5)- Killa Sha of the Killa Kids produces and rhymes on this track. I had heard Sha on Tragedy's album "Against All Odds" and thought he was pretty good. This is a good track, but a little below the previous ones. Husslers N Gangstaz (4/5)- Germ and Artillery trade verses on this track produced by Artillery. A top track about the life of hustlers and gangsters. Take U Back (3/5)- An track with an old school sound featuring Bars N Hooks, Chinky, and Don Alon and produced by Artillery. I didn't like the beat very much. Let Em Hang (3.5/5)- Nas and Lake with help from V-12 and produced by The Alchemist. A little too R&B sounding to me. Crazy 8's (4.5/5)- Littles, Wiz, Blitz, Jungle, Faul Monday, and Germ all get a verse while Lake and Prodigy do the chorus. Features good MCing and prodcution by Goodie Goodman. Why Y'all Wanna Play (4/5)- Faul Monday, Mr. Chalise, and Killa Sha unite for this track also produced by Sha. Monday and Chalise have a better flow than Sha, but a good track. Keep Doin U (3.5/5)- Craig G and Voice over a Artillery produced beat. Pretty good. We Gon Buck (5/5)- CNN, Lake, and Cormega over a good Alchemist beat. The MCs fit good together, althogh Lake and Capone sound similar. One of the best tracks on the album, although I am a big CNN fan so I could be bias. Get Back (5/5)- Prodigy, Ammo, and Tragedy shine on this track produced by Uno Dos. P and Tragedy have the best verses, but Ammo holds himself pretty well too. Right or Wrong (5/5)- One of the best tracks featuring great lyrics and MCing by Lake and Blitz. No producer is listed. This one about crime and MCing makes you really listen. 41st Side (3/5)- Bigga Du, Fly Tye, Hooks, and Don Alon unite for this average track produced by Artillery. It has a pretty good beat, but the MCing is only average. Overall, a great album with some big names and some up-and-comers from QB. Worth the price of admission.

Lake is a Queensbridge dude that served a long bid in jail for shooting a kid in the projects. On his release, he is trying to get into the music industry by joining popular local talent (and QB has alot)and make a solid debut for his label Lake Entertainment. Lake is an M.C also, you can hear him on God's Son by Nas, he is on song #12. So this CD here, 41st Side was a strong first effort and has both talented MCs (Mobb Deep,Littles,Cormega,Nas,Blitz,Bravehearts,Killa Sha,etc.) and talented producers (Sha,Alchemist,Havoc and L.E.S) to make classic Queensbridge type music. The only real downside to the album is that V-12 is sings weak hooks and some of the tracks are lackluster in their format and amateur sound. The strong tracks throughout are:
Cardboard Box-Good verses, basic sound but it works well Pain-Excellent QB type beat and Noyd delivers polished bars Do My Thang-Tight beat and head nodding type shish Let 'Em Hang-Nas shows why he has QB on lock, hook is so-so Crazy 8s-Another clique track, good feel to it We Gon Buck-Cormega easily outshine CNN but the track is great Get Back-Tragedy is one of the best QB rappers, great track Usually compilations are chalk full of discarded songs off people's solo joints. This isn't that, its good QB style rap. It isn't mainstream sounding or full of disco beats, this is really just for hip-hop heads who like the "Queens" style of rap. L.E.S shows he is one of the best and most-underrated producers and Killa Sha shines on the best songs. School Grade: B

There's really not much to say except that if you listen to Queens music like Mobb Deep, Cormega, Nas, Nature, CNN, Tragedy Khadafi, etc. than you need this CD. It is a great all-star album, much better than QB's Finest. Best track "We Gon Buck"

YO THIS IS THE HOTTEST ALBUM OUT RIGHT NOW. IF YOU'RE LIKE ME AND TIRED OF ALL THE BIG WILLY STYLING IN HIP HOP RIGHT NOW, THEN THIS IS DEFINITELY THE ALBUM FOR YOU. EVERYBODY FROM QUEENSBRIDGE IS ON IT. THERE'S NAS, MOBB DEEP, CORMEGA, CAPONE AND NOREAGA, LAKE, NATURE, BARS AND HOOKS, AND EVEN CRAIG G FOR ALL THE OLD SCHOOL HEADS. THE ALCHEMIST (WHO PRODUCED JADA KISS'S "WE GONE MAKE IT" AND PRODIGY'S "KEEP IT THORO")PRODUCED HALF THE JOINT SO YOU KNOW ITS BLAZIN'. BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, COP THE CD YO SELF. "ITS THE REAL HIP HOP" DUN!

Yo what's up. This is a new album by Lake' Luchiano from QB called Lake Present "The 41st side" and it is hot. It starts off with a bangin' song by Big Noyd, Nature, Littles, Prodigy and the beat is off the chain. The album features Nas, CNN, Mobb Deep, Nature, Cormega, Tradegy Khadefi, Bravehearts, Littles, Infamous Mobb, Bars and Hooks, Lake, Germ and all of QB. Everyone is combined together for a different sound with production by Lake and Alchemist. It's defiantly a QB album not to miss. Since QB breeds the greatest MCees on Earth, run out and cop this. One.
