4.0 out of 5 stars Great travel mug
I bought this travel mug because:
1. It was made in Spain - not China.
2. It does not leak - as per the reviews - and it has not leaked on me yet after a dozen uses.
3. It is made of stainless steel.
It needs to be hand washed. The plastic bottom is a little brittle. It broke when it fell off my counter, but Laken's customer service is great. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bottomless Mug
I bought three of these mugs because I liked them so much. In a month the bottom liner broke on two of them. This was with normal daily use, no dishwasher. I tried holding it together with a rubber band, but the bottoms continued to crack until the mug was useless.
I would recommend not purchasing one until the bottom seal is redesigned to last more than a month...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very good until the bottom came off, March 21, 2009
Very good until the bottom came off

Great mug, fit well in the car, and the lid stayed on - all was good until the bottom came off in the dishwasher after a dozen uses. I can't get the bottom back on and can no longer use the mug.

edited July 09:
Customer support did replace the mug for me when I contacted them by email. Took a while to get a reply to the email and to get a new mug, but cost of replacement was shipping to them.

3.0 out of 5 stars 2 yr update, December 7, 2009

I have not experienced the bottom piece breaking like other users have experienced. Works great.

2 yr update: After about a year, the sliding cover on the lid had gotten too loose, so everytime I would tilt the mug to take a sip, the cover would slide over my drinking hole, torture! I put a piece of thin plastic cut from a small zip-tie between the slider & cover so it holds open but can still slide shut by hand. However, I still use the mug daily and it gets washed in the dishwasher, both mug & lid, at least once a week, handwashed all other days. I changed the rating from a 5 to a 3.

This review is from: Laken Thermo Inox 0.5L BPA-Free Stainless Steel Vacuum Mug (Sports)
I have not had any issues with the bottom cracking otherwise.
My only improvement would be to the handle. It sticks out from the mug quite a distance, which results in only being able to put it in my vehicle's cup holder one direction. This direction is fine when I am the driver, but a little odd when I am a passenger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice, lightweight mug with good thermal value, November 6, 2010

I bought this for my dad who has arthritis. He wanted a mug that was lightweight and comfortable to hold, would keep coffee hot for a long time, and was not lined with plastic. This mug was the right choice. It has a stainless steel interior with plastic lid. It holds a half a liter of liquid so it is a convenient size. I know there were complaints about the plastic bottom cracking or breaking, and upon looking at it I do agree that it appears not to have any flexibility. I warned my dad to be very careful with it, use it only around the house, and to hand wash.
