Lakewood LFF2009C-GM 20-Inch Power Fan

The low speed is quieter than a typical box fan and the high speed blows more air than a typical box fan.






I am using this as a desk fan in my office cube.

It works very well because it is very quiet on the low speed.

Large fan blades do not have to move as quickly as a small fan blade to move a lot of air, so this larger fan is actually much quieter than a small fan, for the same amount of air movement.

I will definitely buy more of these in the future.

It is even Made in the USA.

The manuallly pivoting design is also nice.

Unfortunately for Lakewood, this is my second Kool Operator box fan.
The first is at least 8 years old and has seen daily use of 4-5 hours from May thru Sept. for all of its life and is still performing fine. I purchased this new one to replace a different fan, based on my favorable experience with my Lakewood.
The new fan is considerably lighter, which is reflected in the less sturdy shrouding and I'm sure in a lighter motor. I noted that the original fan has 7 large blades and the new one has only 5 smaller blades. With both fans set on High, the old one moves more air. The noise level is similar.... the new one having a slightly higher pitched noise. I would have preferred Lakewood would have raised the price $5 and continued to build the same quality fan.
It is an OK fan and I would rate it a 3 out of 5.

I have a few of this same model from several years ago. At times I've left them run for weeks on end (during particularly warm SoCal summers). They're quiet and low profile (meaning they fit in my window with their small base) and they have served me well.

One or two of them are starting to show some well deserved age, so I ordered a new one. I was afraid that the product quality had declined, so I only ordered one to check it out. No issues, the quality appears just as good and the fan is quiet. And the base is still small enough to fit the window ledge. I'm ordering two more to stock up in case the whiners get their way and Lakewood increases the footprint size. I highly recommend this fan for window use. Great price too.

Have two ten year old Lakewood "Kool Operator" fans love them! Recently decided to get another. Bought the Lakewood LFF2009A-GM 20-Inch Power Fan. What a mistake, the older fans had seven blades this one had five figured after ten years the five blades was a improvement. I feel like I brought a toy fan. It is so light weight it falls over if bumped to hard. About small children, what were they thinking!! The cord plugs into the wall and the other end of the cord plugs into the fan. Why didn't they permanently attach the cord to the fan like fans used to be made? I can just see a young child pulling the cord off the fan and sucking on it and getting a shock or maybe worse. You know kids they do the craziest things. The fan also vibrates. Like the old saying goes, they don't make things like they used too. Hang on to your old Kool Operator's.

Excellent. We'd sent back other fans for being too noisy. This one is pretty quiet. Not exactly stylish but it's well made and we're happy with our choice.

This is the second fan like this that I purchased. The first one I got so long ago that I forgot just how long ago it was, and I loved it. I purchased a second one almost identical to the first one and I love it also. It is powerful, very reasonably priced and quiet except on high. High is a little noisy, but not too bad and so worth it for all the air it pushes out. I often run it on medium anyway and you can hardly hear it run on medium and or low.I would definitely recommend this fan.

I have a Lakewood fan & thought I was buying the same thing. It turns out that this fan has 5 blades. . . my original fan has 7. Original fan has better output, but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Recently purchased this fan. I had owned an older Kool Operator model for about 7-8 yrs. It was a GREAT fan. Basically used it to move air in the walkout level of our MN home. The new one is not as heavy or substantial as the original (the new one also more expensive). This review may be a bit premature in that the fan gets little/no use in the Winter months. Unpackaged the fan and tried it and it seemed to move air in the same way as the old one. Looking forward to using it this spring/summer.

I liked my old Lakewood Cool Operator 20 Inch Floor Fans so much that I gave away the two that I had to relatives as gifts. So I just bought two more to replace those. The ones I just received are horrible quality compared to the old ones I had. Obviously Lakewood is now more concerned with cost more than they are in supplying a high quality product!!! If it wasn't so darn much of a pain in the neck to do a return, I would send both of these back!!! As the old saying goes, as it applies to the new style Lakewood Floor Fan, "all good things must end"!

This fan caused me to lose a lot of faith in Amazon.
I consider Amazon the benchmark for others to achieve and I tell everyone this.

This fan left me feeling embarrassed for Amazon. It is a product they should not carry.

The fan arrived in its own box but was placed inside of a box that was, perhaps, intended for a bicycle.
There was no packing to keep the fan from sliding around inside the box.

The fan blade was not even mounted on the motor shaft.
Actually, I am glad I could not turn the fan on. It is made of light plastic and it surely would have flung its self across the room.

The only bright side of this whole transaction was the ease Amazon makes it to return their product and the prompt crediting of my account.
