Editorial Reviews

Review

"An elegant visual meditation--the first time I watched
this video, I sat through it three times to absorb its heart-
swelling beauty." -- The Phoenix, 6/98

"Beautifully filmed...relaxing and gently instructive." -- Aquarius Magazine, 5/98

"Beautifully produced and photographed...a welcome respite from
the hurried pace of urban living." -- Vision Magazine, 5/98

"Exquisitely and lovingly filmed...a beautifully done work from
which the viewer will take an endless variety of meanings." -- NAPRA Review, 11/98

"Lakota Medicine Walk" is a film you do not want to miss. The
scenery is some of the Creator's best images of Mother Earth, not
to mention the magnificence of the four-leggeds and the winged-
ones.

The photography is outstanding and it is very well narrated. It
has a very strong message yet takes you gently on a spiritual
journey where your spirit becomes one with nature." -- Country Road Chronicles, 5/99

"The first video of a planned series is an elegant visual
meditation made with the haunting beauty of the Black Hills,
badlands and prairies of the northern Great Plains. Its intent
is to encourage us to see the spiritual messages inherent in
nature and understand how to apply our insights. The gentle
music of the video is Native American flute music and the sounds
of nature. Commentary is very occasional words from an Indian
"guide" who shares Native wisdom.

The first time I watched this video, I sat through it three times to
absorb its's heart-swelling beauty. I commend it to your peaceful
hearts." -- The Phoenix, 6/98

"The photography is exquisite...revealing dramatic country with
bold colors, textures and fascinating shapes." -- New Age Retailer, 3/99

"This video encompasses a three-day period journeying across the
badlands, the Black Hills and the prairie terrain of the Dakotas.
Beautifully produced and photographed by Randall Thorne, Lakota
Medicine Walk is a welcome respite from the hurried pace of urban
living. Like a hawk who beckons us to look at life from a higher
perspective, in this 50-minute video we are invited to view our
world from an elevated vantage point in order to discover the
wonder in the sacred web of being.

As our Lakota brother says, "The mountains are speaking quietly
that I am of both the earth and the sky." All we need to do is
listen." -- Vision Magazine, 5/98

From the Contributor

Who among us does not feel better while strolling
through a peaceful park filled with bright flowers, majestic
trees and singing birds? It's not really a surprise then that
communing with the earth brings us greater solace and an expanded
awareness of the connectedness of all creation.

It is this same connection that best describes Lakota Medicine
Walk, a video which literally walks you across the magnificent
ancestral landscape of the Sioux Nation on a quest for spiritual
wisdom. During this journey you seek guidance from the Creator
as you listen to the voices of the land speaking to your heart.

A mythical Lakota "guide" accompanies you on this three-day walk
through the Black Hills, badlands and prairies of the northern
Great Plains. Though you never see him, the guide shows you how
to see the natural world as a source of inspiration and healing.
Soothing sounds of nature and Native American flute music blend
with his narrative to support the relaxed exploration of your
feelings.

At journey's end you will have experienced the incredible natural
beauty of the land the Lakota call home. And you will have
experienced it much as they did, through eyes that see the sacred
relationship that connects all things.

Waching this video and diving into its state of mind brings you directly to the one thing, that is even better:
You get up, go out and look at the beauty of this mother earth with newly opend eyes and ears to listen to her before unheard songs.
