Do not hesitate to buy this record! Eva Dahlgren sings in Swedish, yet this shouldn't be an obstacle to appreciating her beautiful voice and music.

In Swedish mainstream media, Eva D. is well-known for being gay, which sometimes tends to take the attention away from her art. That is a pity. She is a multi-talented, and very gifted musician-singer.

Last year, in a breathtaking Stockholm summer night, I was present at one of the concerts that this live album is made up of. The album represents exactly what happened: Eva D. was truly amazing, and she was welcomed by a huge, genuine embrace by her audience. My at that time soon-to-be-born son got the best possible birth gift by listening to this music through the wall.

Her lyrics are inspiring as well. Here is a (poor) translation of a part of Vem tander stjarnorna (Who lightens the stars): But who turns the winds around/ Who makes me go/ Where I've never walked before/ Who lightens the stars/ That only I see/ In your eyes/ Who turns the winds around/ And brings me where/ My thought/ Has never reached before/

Enjoy listening to a voice that insists on exploring human existence through thoughts and music. This album is just a taste of what Eva D. has to offer. She has done other stuff that you should try to get hold of: Mainly clever rock music but also symphonic music as well.

Eva Dahlgren is clearly unique and extremely talented. Her voice is a soft, balmy whisper at times and strong and sensual at others. There is no single artist that has influenced me more profoundly with her enchanted and lyrics that reads like the most beautiful poetry, I know several of her songtexts by heart. Her musical ability and range is amazing. She writes, produces her albums by her own talent. This cd has songs mainly from her latest release with some older but terrific material as well.

Try to locate her greatest hits double cd as well, titled "For minnenas skull"(For memory's sake), and "En blekt blondins hjarta"(A bleach blonde's heart).

Eva Dahlgren should not be missed, and to enter her musical prodigy is something that should be experienced and cherished.
