Shear Beauty.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lalique (Hardcover)
This book is extremely breath taking. The pictures exhibit clear expressions of Lalique's work. The pictures are so life-like that it picks up every intricate detail of the jewelery and designs of maybe the greatest jeweler and goldsmith of all times. It's a great investment if you are a fan of Rene Lalique's work. Well done and well put together.

Pity for ignorants,
By Dr. Augusto Giardini (ancona Italy) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lalique (Hardcover)
I feel very sorry for Ms Hodge, but having a bit of knowledge about Lalique glass and being myself a good collector, I want other future unlucky buyers to know that the author, apart from having published the most horrible photographs of Lalique glass I have seen in the last 20 years, has absolutely no idea about R. Lalique's work. I really wonder how an editor can publish a book like this. No more comments. Too sad, after all.... Augusto Giardini

This review is from: Lalique (Hardcover)
This is an excellent resource for those interested in Lalique's later glass designs, with sections on vases, bottles, tableware, statuary, decorations, and lighting. However, none of his jewelry pieces were to be found, to my disappointment. Looks like I'll have to find another book to round out my collection.
