5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect 1st Baby Doll that lasts!!
I can remember this time last year shopping for our 3 month baby girl for Christmas. I wanted to get her a baby doll that was just perfect. I was brought back to this doll because of the reviews and I have to say that they were all right!! This doll has served its purpose over and over. The soft doll became like "the blanket" to her. 3.0 out of 5 stars We loveall 4 of our "GA's"
My daughter got this doll when she was 4 mo old. At 6 months she called it "GA" and the rest is history. That was almost 8 yrs ago. We have 4 of them and Santa may bring a new one this year. It has been very, very, very well loved. It has healed hurts, cured illness, soothed nightmares and just generally comforted a beautiful little girl for 8 years. They...

She loves the silky edge on the dolls dress. I have also washed it numerous times and was surprised that it didn't get that "washed" look to it. She still sleeps with this doll and prefers it over all of her toys. This is our 3rd daughter. I wish my other girls had had a doll like this. I know you will be happy with this baby!!

Our 2nd daughter was given one of these when she was born. Six years and 3 So Soft Baby Girls later, she still carries "Baby" around wherever she goes. This doll lives up to her name--a wonderfully soft companion for little hands to hold and stroke. One warning: you may want to buy 2, in case Baby gets lost or just plain worn-out.

Our daughter loves this baby doll and cuddles her close in her crib. She is not speaking yet - but says "Ahh" and kisses her doll lots. We were looking for something durable that I could throw in the washer and something that had no hard parts so we could leave it in the crib overnight. This doll is perfect and she can pick it up on her own and cuddle on her own.

They wash beautifully, keep there shape and though over time tend to loose their fabric (in spots) they always give back great love and affection. They are soft and easy for baby hands to grasp and big girl hands to hold on to, too!

My daughter loves this doll. It is her constant companion and comfort. She sucks on the hair -- who knows why? But since it's in her mouth constantly, I wash them constantly. They wash and dry very, very well in Woolite in the washing machine. The fabric has had everything imaginable on it, and it always comes completely clean -- except the area around the hair. After a few months, it does start to show drool stains (as another reveiwer noted), but I can't imagine what fabric wouldn't. So you have to replace Dolly every once in awhile, or ignore the stains. Fortunately, they're not terribly expensive, and they're readily available at lots of on-line stores, esp. Amazon. I'm pregnant with my second child, and I can't find any other "lovie"/doll that is a perfect as this one. I wish Eden made this particular doll in a different color! None of their other dolls compare.

MY DAUGHTER IS 5-1/2 YEARS OLD. THIS IS THE FIRST DOLL SHE RECEIVED AS A BABY AND SHE STILL SLEEPS WITH IT. IT HAS BEEN WASHED NUMEROUS TIMES - A LITTLE TRICK I LEARNED IS WASH IT WITH A LOAD OF RED CLOTHES AND IT WILL REALLY PERK UP HER COLOR. IT IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE FOR SOMETHING SO LOVEABLE AND DURABLE.

My 2nd daughter, loves this doll! My sister gave her this baby for her baby shower (over 2.5 years ago), and she just loves the doll so much! We have lost and replaced this doll more then 3 times. We actually had to have 3 in the house, in case we lost one. She keeps one in bed and the other ones, are for when we go out. I highly recommend this doll, but be aware though.... your little one will be hooked onto the doll! :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy Two, September 8, 2003

My daughter got "baby" when she was 18 months old and instantly picked her over several other dolls she had. She is now 3 1/2 and still loves this doll. We have gone on quests when out of town to find one when the doll got left behind. We recently had a limo turn around on the way to the airport to go back to get "baby". It would have been a long trip without her. We have had 3 over the course of time, but have had just one now for quite awhile. I'm ordering another one in case of an emergency.

Some people who have seen my daughter holding the doll have come up to me and commented that their child had the same security baby.

I gave it 5 starts for educational value because I often refer to "baby" when trying to make an educational point. An example is when she tries to take a special toy of another child, I ask how she would feel if someone tried to take "baby". Or when she was banging a fork on the kitchen table and I told her that I didn't want her making marks in it, she kept asking "why?" and I asked her if she wanted me to hurt "baby" similarly. It usually makes the point in a way she understands.

5.0 out of 5 stars not just for girls or babies, December 15, 2004
This review is from: So Soft Baby Girl (Toy)
My first daughter received a so soft baby from Grandma but considered her collection of pacifiers more precious. The second daughter also found another lovie. But MY SON became attached to it from infancy and cannot sleep without "Happy Baby." We have two, which he refers to as "clean"(the newer one) and "scuzzy" (the original), although on most days, it's hard to tell the difference.

His devotion to Happies is so obvious that even our 18-month-old toddler runs to find one when big brother (he's now 3) is crying. In fact, I was reading these reviews with a smile, while I'm surfing the web looking for three more Happies to keep on standby. After all, through she is washable, there's a limit before she starts getting really ragged.

Bottom line: So Soft baby isn't just for girls; she's for any infant--or child, as the reviews also suggest--who wants the comfort of a soft, squishy friend.

2.0 out of 5 stars what's the big deal?, November 4, 2002

Despite the rave reviews, I had my doubts about this doll, and I was right. Why would a baby prefer a doll with closed eyes? I was trying to decide between this doll, and another soft doll, the "Cuddle-Up Play Pal" by the Learning Curve. (discontinued, unfortunately) I ended up getting both (the last Cuddle-Up!) - and my 7 1/2 month old ignores the "So-Soft" doll. The first time she looked at it ,she frowned at the closed eyes and tossed it aside. How can a baby feel connected to a doll that seems to have no eyes? The other doll, the "Cuddle Up" has round, clearly defined eyes - she absolutely adores it. Maybe she will appreciate the So-Soft doll when she is a little older, but I would say get a doll with her eyes open as a first doll for a baby. Learning Curve, bring back the Cuddle-Up Play Pal - you had a winner.
