4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but not for the price
I bought this mobile instead of the one that matched my nursery because it plays Brahm's Lullaby instead of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and it also has a mirror hanging down from the middle; my son loves mirrors. It is also not quite as loud as some other mobiles, which I really liked. Unfortunately, wind up mobiles do not play for very long at all - 1 1/2 to 3...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for convertible cribs
We got this to match our bedding set. When I went to install it on our convertible crib, I ended up putting scratches on my crib. I bought the convertible crib for a reason...to grow with my baby. Now, I have visible damage on his white crib. My husband had to put a piece of plastic under the mobile to prevent further scratching. Pay attention when looking for a...

Unfortunately, wind up mobiles do not play for very long at all - 1 1/2 to 3 minutes, absolute tops, and you have to be careful not to overwind them. I then bought a battery operated Fisher Price Starry Night Mobile for 25% less, with lights and music (5 songs) which so far I like better. My son likes this one, too, so I gave it 4 stars.

Very pleased with this mobile. Matches the decor in the baby's room of blue and brown; also, matches the theme of elephants (and other animals).

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke After One Use, January 22, 2012
This review is from: Lambs & Ivy Jake Musical Mobile (Baby Product)
The moment I found out I was pregnant, I started looking for the perfect bedding set, and after month seven, I finally decided on the Lambs and Ivy Jake collection. LOVED LOVED LOVED the way everything looked together after getting the room set up, and I couldn't wait to bring my baby boy home to it. However, on our first day back from the hospital, I laid my newborn down in his crib and wound up the mobile FOR THE FIRST TIME, only to hear a super-loud cracking sound--the actual mechanics inside of the casing had cracked. This would make sense if I had wound it really far or were a strong person, but I'm 5'9 and barely over 100 pounds--not exactly a body builder. My husband is a computer repair person who can fix pretty much anything in the house, and after looking at the pieces of the music box, he said it was just cheaply made that there was no way to piece everything back together--it was irreparable.

I strongly regret paying so much for a mobile that my son never even got to listen to once. We still have it hung in the crib without the musical piece, so I basically paid thirty-six dollars for four tiny toys hung from a bar--they are cute toys, don't get me wrong, but not thirty-six dollars cute.

My baby loves his musical mobile. If you're getting the Jake bedroom set, absolutely get the mobile as well. It goes nicely with the decor, has a smooth sound and it's well worth the price. Check out my pictures under the gallery for this product.

Pay attention when looking for a mobile...Better yet, try it on your crib before buying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice but make sure it fits you crib!, June 1, 2004

This review is from: Lambs & Ivy Jake Musical Mobile (Baby Product)
I bought this for our nursery because it matches our crib set--and it is very cute. The only frustrating thing I have found so far is that we had a hard time installing it because it was designed for a different type of bed then we have (we have a bassett sleigh crib). My husband essentially had to rig the thing to fit safely on our crib--
