There is not enough good I can say about this book. Adler covers his subject from the start of lampmaking in the Holy Land until the Middle Ages. There are very high quality photographs and well written text.

This review is from: Oil Lamps of the Holy Land (Hardcover)
This book contains hundreds of black and white photos of oil lamps from the Holy Land. There are not too many from Iron Age and prior but then there were not too many different designs for lamps back then. Not a great deal of written information about the lamps but if you have bought an ancient lamp from Israel there is a good chance you will find a picture of your type here and you can show your friends that you bought the "real" thing (you still hope you can trust that shop keeper!).
