4.0 out of 5 stars A useful product
I love the name "granny fork," and this one works as advertised. One can fish something out of a hot toaster oven or flip over something being fried without risk of injury. On the other hand it is made from very thin stamped stock. While it works fine, it has a flimsy feel to it. In a more perfect world it would be of more substantial sheet metal, or even be cast, to make...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good kitchen tool
Serves the purpose of poking around in hot pots and pans from a distance. It is thin stamped metal and the tang does not go much beyond the handle rivets; doesn't feel very sturdy. I expected a heftier tool for the price. I soaked the handle in food-grade mineral oil to help reduce drying/splitting.

For holding meat and cutting on the grill the long handle does very well. It helps keep all of the hair on your arm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product with a very sharp point!, January 18, 2012
This review is from: LamsonSharp 3-Tine Granny Fork - 10-Inch
This is a granny fork that was based on a Civil war mess kit granny fork, so I think that's probably why it's slight in size. It is a well made product that is very sharp and easily pierces things. I have limited storage space, so I appreciate when things don't have thick, enormous handles, so I was pleased with mine. I bought mine locally at a locally owned department store (Stebbins Anderson in Towson, MD), where it was $14 something, but there was no shipping, so it was competitively priced.
