Works better than rollers at a good price,
By A Customer
This review is from: LamsonSharp Stainless Steel Pizza Rocker Knife (Kitchen)
Cutting pizza works best when you can quickly apply a lot of overhead leverage to cut through the crust so that cheese and topping don't have much chance to stick to the knife before lifting it to make the next cut.The problem with a rolling cutter is that it's difficult to quickly and evenly apply much pressure with one hand as it rolls over the uneven, steaming hot sticky cheese and toppings. After the first rotation of the disk, you'll often end up with more cheese stuck on the cutter than left on the pizza, making it even more difficult to cut all the way through the crust. There are a few minor problems with this rocker knife, though. It's too small to cut the entire diameter of a larger pizza in a single cut, so it's a bit more work than it could be for 12 inch and larger pies. The handles don't lend themselves to applying as much force as I'd like because the blade could flip on its side while cutting without reserving some effort to prevent it from doing so. The knife can't hang from an overhead rack unless I drill a hole in it myself. But these minor gripes wouldn't force me to go back to using a rolling cutter. I've used commercial pizza cutters that work better, but this represents a great value for home use compared to the typical rollers.

Cuts a pizza just like the pros!,

Finally the ability to cut pizza at home without all the cheese and toppings being dragged from one side to the other! This tool is a MUST for anyone who enjoys making pizza. You can even cut homemade pizza's in Chicago-style thin crust squares (gotta have those little "corner" pieces!)It's also great for cutting quesadillas, sandwiches, calzones, absolutely anything that a regular knife or roller-cutter rips!

Finally! No messes!,

I worked at a Pizza Hut in college, and we used this type of pizza cutter. It was so much easier to use than the traditional rolling cutters. Cuts fast and mess free. I've always wondered why these were not found in stores. Anyway, I finally have this one, and it works GREAT. Nice clean cuts, and as someone has said, no pulling the toppings off while ROLLING a wheel cutter. I give it only four stars for one reason, although it will cut a frozen or bobali size pizza just fine (14"), I wish it was bigger for my larger homemade pies. It still works great for them (with 2 cuts), but I got spoiled working in that pizza joint cutting every size pizza with one cut. But I'm definately happy enough with this to buy again as gifts.

This is the greatest pizza cutter I've ever had! It's so quick, clean and easy! Also works great on fudge (been making plenty of that lately). Cleans up easy. I love that it doesn't destroy the pizza when you cut it. I'd love to give these out as gifts.

I was looking for a professional (like the ones I used while working at a certain pizza chain) rocker knife and was completely fooled by the picture of this item. It is a nice knife, but the size leaves something to be desired, along with the fact that you can't hang it without drilling your own hole. (As another reviewer stated)

Enjoying this knife in my kitchen,

I was concerned that this pizza knife might not be quite long enough for my homemade pizzas, which I bake on 14" pizza stones. Although the blade is actually 13" long--not 14" (believe me: I measured), the rocker action helped me gain the other 1" needed to slice thru my pizzas without repositioning. (The blade is sharp MOST of the way around; the first 1" of blade closest to the handle on each side hasn't been sharpened to protect you from cutting yourself.)
If you're cutting a 14" pizza or smaller, you'll enjoy this knife. But it's a little more difficult to reach 14" needed than with a longer knife. (You have to go for the FULL rocking action to reach 14".) Yet for the huge savings over most 20" rocking pizza knives--I'm happy. If I get tired of the "full rocking," I can always make my pizzas a tad smaller!

If you've ever used an ill-fitted tool for the job at hand you'll know this is the right one at first try. With excellent slicing action and size this pizza cutter has replaced all my previous (and good) cutters. The rocker action is much better than rollers or chopping knives, and the handles are well matched for good control.

THE PERFECT WAY TO PART YOUR PIZZA,
This review is from: LamsonSharp Stainless Steel Pizza Rocker Knife (Kitchen)
Our family would probably not be classified as true pizza aficionados thus I never gave a thought to a "professional" pizza cutter. We've just been going along with whatever knife was handy - usually breaking the crust and creating long strings of cheese. Then our mother's group was called to serve pizza to a bunch of hungry teenagers. Happily, my friend who was in charge of the event knew alot more about slicing pizza than I did - she brought along LamsonSharp Pizza Rocker Knives. Glad to say the event went well, the kids were happy, and the pizza was sliced quickly, evenly, easily, and cleanly. The next day I bought one of these knives for myself. Who knows, we may even eat pizza more often.

I bought this item for my boyfriend's birthday, and he absolutely loves it! It is the perfect size for all those storebought pizzas and stays sharp! We can cut effortlessly through a pizza in seconds and be ready to devour our food without having to argue with the slices trying to pull them apart. We LOVE this slicer!
