5.0 out of 5 stars I'm in love!
Totally love this li'l pen; the image does NOT do it justice. It is extremely compact, thus great for carrying in pockets without worrying about ink.

About as big around as my pinky, and only 3.5 inches long when closed (like picture). Press one end, and the pen magically extends a writing tip, plus another inch on the back so it feels like a "regular" pen...

1.0 out of 5 stars Failure to Deliver
There can be no doubt that this is a very stylish pen and it carries very well in the pocket. I am inclined to carry a small notebook and this pen is the perfect mate. It looks very classy. Almost all of the Lamy pens do. They (Lamy)clearly differentiate themselves along styles lines. With that said, my little Pico pen self-destructed after writing all of three pages...

Plus it's pretty! (I have the annodized blue version.)

5.0 out of 5 stars COLOR OVER FUNCTION? SHAME ON YOU, January 12, 2010
By
This is the best pen I have owned. And I am the Imelda Marcos of pens. I bought this pen on a flight home from Europe way back in the olden days 4 years ago when it was still fun to fly and have used it every day since. I buy refills on ebay. I have refilled it about every 6 mos and it gets good mileage. Who cares what color it is? Give me a break. It is very comfortable, balanced and you can write forever even with old arthritic fingers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute pen, September 12, 2008

I like this pen so much I bought another right after I lost the first one.
Then I put a small, black o-ring from OSH around it so it wouldn't slip out of my pocket like the first one did.
Collapsed it fits in my pocket no problem and expanded it's a normal-sized pen and feels good in my hand.
No cap to loose!
This is a standard ball-point so scribble a little on scratch paper before you sign a document or you will have the pen skip over the first two letters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best compact pen I've ever come across, July 18, 2009

I keep this puppy in my pocket at all times. It's actually a very impressive looking pen when open, writes fine, and takes up next to no space when closed. I love the black one in particular - classy. Refill is very small and costs $4.50 so if you use it as your primary pen you will probably feel like your wallet is hooked up to the Lamy cash register, but, as a backup pen to ALWAYS have with you it is perfect!

5.0 out of 5 stars Compact and cute, December 18, 2007
It's compact ,cute and extremely stylish, fits in any pocket and hate to leave home without it. I had a black one and I love it so much, that I went ahead and bought the red one too. Beautiful pair :).

5.0 out of 5 stars SMALL TO COOL IN .3 SECONDS, September 28, 2009
I've long been a fan of the Moleskine notebooks during my travels.
There was just one problem:
Finding a pen small enough to compliment it.

Here's my take on the Lamy Pico . . .

PROS:
Small and sleek. Something James Bond would probably own.
You can put this pen in your cargo-pants pocket and--thanks to its blunt ends--not worry about the pen stabbing you in the leg while you're walking/jogging/running.
Although the pen refills are small, I was surprised how much life I got out of them. I've been using the same cartridge for about 3 months now.
Comes in a variety of colors (I have the black one and it looks very classy).
Easy to disassemble and refill.
Haven't had any problems with it.

CONS:
The lack of a clip obviously limits where you can put your pen. However I'm not sure how they would include a clip without compromising the minimalist design.

OVERALL:
Walking through a store full of classy, expensive pens, this one easily took the cake. And the best thing is, the pen itself is priced reasonably. Highly recommended for travelers or business-types who need something small and sophisticated.

There can be no doubt that this is a very stylish pen and it carries very well in the pocket. I am inclined to carry a small notebook and this pen is the perfect mate. It looks very classy. Almost all of the Lamy pens do. They (Lamy)clearly differentiate themselves along styles lines. With that said, my little Pico pen self-destructed after writing all of three pages! It appears that the tiny metal fitting on the side of the barrel has an internal function relative to the spring action. Upon opening/closing (for maybe the 10th time)the pen sprang apart like a (spring-loaded)jack-in-the-box. I took it right back to the store and they shipped it off for warranty work. I actually wanted another one right away, but need to wait a few more days to pick-up the repaired pen. In all fairness, I am willing to give Lamy the benefit of the doubt, as the pen handled well while it was functioning and I have used their other pens for years. It was probably a fluke.

Overall a cool little pen. Wish there was a refill that was gel because the ballpoint is kind of weak.

Its a lovely pocket sized pen, drips class all over it. Its only minus is you have to be careful so that other metal objects(keys for instance) dont rub against it, else the coating starts scratching. Otherwise has the best refills, and awesomely comfortable size.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super cool, January 26, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Just what I needed when wearing a dress shirt at work with no pocket. I always had issues with no where to put a standard pen, and this solved the problem. Now I slip it into my jeans on the weekends, golf shorts or anywhere this compact gem fits, and that's just about everywhere.
It works smoothly, extends to just the right "regular" pen length and writes as well as any pen I own. One review mentioned about skipping on first pen to paper, but I haven't had that problem. Just don't lose it. It is small and easy to get away from you (I did find mine stuck in the corner of a bag I carry.) I would have bought another one if I hadn't found it.
