Lana can’t remember a time when she wasn’t hopelessly in love with Akira. Even knowing that he viewed her as a kid sister had never helped to dampen her feelings. One night together only made it worse. After seducing Akira, it became apparent that their love affair was hopelessly one-sided, and heartbroken, Lana fled her beloved island paradise.
Eight years later, Lana finally returns home, planning to stay briefly, and only for business, but her plans go quickly awry when she runs into the man she could never get over.
At just under 34,000 words, this story is a novella.
This book is intended for ages 18+

5.0 out of 5 stars A great steamy, happy read! March 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Lana is a wonderful novella that is about Lana Middleton, the friend to both Bianca and James in the Up in the Air series by R.K. Lilley. Lana works hard for her family's business but her heart was left in Hawaii 8 years ago with Akira, the love of her life. She goes back under the pretense of working for her family's resort for a few days but ends up back with Akira. She finds out he has loved her just as much as she loved him all this time. They work through their differences and have a beautiful HEA. The sex scenes are very hot and the novella is just so well written. This can be a standalone although you are missing out on a great series if you don't read In Flight, Mile High and Grounded as well. Highly recommended...you will not be disappointed!!!

A very steamy and romantic read! It's a perfect combination of romance and saucy love scenes that get you hot under the collar. I have read quite a few erotic books but they can sometimes be lacking in romance, which I find leaves something to be desired. What I really enjoyed about this story is that it expertly combines the two. The romance is satisfying, deep and tender, and the abundant love scenes are just plain good fun.

The setting is perfect - a beautiful, idyllic Hawaiian island that the main character, Lana, has just returned for a business trip after having been absent for 8 years. She is a loner who has never stopped pining for Akira, the love of her life - a tall, dark and handsome Hawaiian she thought she had left behind forever when she moved to the mainland. She is unexpectedly reunited with him on the island, where they immediately resume their romance, and the intensity of their feelings for each other overcome them both. He finally reveals his true feelings for her and it's now what she expected.

This is a real page-turner! The two main characters are both fascinating and engaging, as are the supporting characters, especially Mari and Tutu. Akira's gorgeous but "psycho" ex, Milena, adds an element of danger to the story and presents a few problems for Lana and Akira. Overall, it's a fun read and I highly recommend it! If you (like me) have read all of R.K. Lilley's books and are looking for more steamy action, you may want to check out My Nights With Kate (Jack Ryker) by M.T. Stone too. I found that one amazing as well!

2.0 out of 5 stars Am I missing something???? March 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm so confused. This book doesn't remotely sound like the same writer of the Up in the Air series. Lana seems like the biggest bubble head and she never seemed that way previously. So Lana hasn't seen Akira in 8 years and thinks he doesn't care about her but immediately she is playing with herself in the back seat of the car within 5 minutes of seeing him again. Seemed really odd to me. The whole thing seemed a little off. Left me cold. Loved Bianca and James but Lana and Akira don't compare.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just not as great as I thought March 18, 2013

I wished we saw the Lana we saw in the Flight seris. It just was not a great story. I wish there was more to this story. Didn't seem like a good short novel. Lana was not the confident women we saw.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Novella November 12, 2013

I loved this novella to the Up In The Air Trilogy. It was well written and just the right length for the story. I think to have an appreciation for this novella you need to read the Up in The Air Trilogy. I have already started the Bad Things series from the same author. All of these characters are connected and are really well developed. My recommendation: read Up In The Air Trilogy. Then this novella. Then start Bad Things.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Complete Disappointment! March 28, 2013

I looked forward to reading this book for days. I was completely disappointed in the story. It didn't make sense, a seperation of 8 years was dismissed like...well nothing. Without any explanation the couple started making out without missing a beat and without any basis for the intimacy. It was completely unbelievable and was one book I could not even finish.

I really enjoyed the other books associated with this book by R.K. Lilley. This just added even more to the story with some of the characters in the other books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read
As usual R.K. Lilley did a great job with this book. I love the way she writes. I wish it was a full book instead of a novella.
