More About the Author

Kate McMullan is the author of many books for young readers, including I Stink!, winner of a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor; I'm Mighty; and Meg's Prairie Diary, a historical fiction trilogy set in St. Louis and Kansas in 1856. She has been fascinated by the Lewis and Clark Expedition since the age of ten, when an uncle told her about an ancestor who had gone on the expedition. That ancestor was sixteen-year-old George Shannon. Ms. McMullan lives in New York City and Sag Harbor, New York, with her husband and collaborator, noted illustrator Jim McMullan, their daughter, two cats, and a dog.

Too hot to play outside? Not allowed to watch anymore t.v.? No problem, grab a Dragon Slayers' Academy book and join an adventure of a lifetime! I'm eight years old and I LOVE these books!

In Sir Lancelot Where are You? Wiglaf, Erica nad Angus set off on an adventure to save Sir Lancelot from the evil Morgana le Fay. Along the way Wiglaf and his pals find a new friend, lots of excitement and some laughs.

I know that you will enjoy this book as much as I did. I would give the book eight to ten stars if I could.

We've been reading this series to our 6-year-old son, and he just loves them. They read quickly, and they have enough "knight" talk to keep the boys interested and enough silly humor to keep my older girls laughing. My kids particularly love Daisy, the pig who speaks Pig Latin. Our only complaint might be that, in each book, McMullan has to once again "explain" the characters--why the pig speaks Pig Latin and why Eric is really Erica. I think readers would most likely start at the beginning of this series, so why explain things over and over?
