The Land Before Time - 9 Movie Dino Pack

My almost-5-year-old son has seen all the Land Before Time movies and enjoys them all. I especially appreciate the fact that the 5 dino friends are not the same species but are best friends, even when one of their dino parents might not approve. They are loyal to each other and best buddies. They also have some typically childish annoying habits, like squealing when frightened, yelling when angry, etc., but they always make up and don't carry grudges. They learn their lessons when they disobey and they don't like to disappoint their parents. When my son tells me he wants to be like Ducky (one of the little dinos) I am happy to hear that, because Ducky is kind and sweet and hates conflict. I wouldn't recommend these movies for young children, as there are behaviors little ones aren't ready for, and also because there are some frightening moments (think "Bambi"). Use your own judgment as to when your child won't become upset with a T-Rex chasing little dinosaurs. Mine was close to 4 before we started watching these movies, and they've given us some wonderful teaching moments, especially about how to be a good friend.

I realy loved these movies when I was younger. The first 5 are the best, I particulary enjoyed #4 and #5. But I think on th last few they have begun to lose their touch. I think the newest ones, like a "The Journey To Big Water", which features a song about imaginary friends, are more marketed for younger preschool children. This may be because I am older. I still love these movies that I grew up with.

They are great at holding childrens attention and fun to watch at the same time. The little ones enjoy signing along with the songs and manage to sit and actually watch the DVD. Once you start on the adventure with Little Foot and his friends the kids want to watch more.

The land before time series is great collection of movies that do a good job teaching important principles to all viewers. I found it interesting to watch how the little gang of dinosaurs "evolved" throughout the series. I also found it interesting to see how the animation itself evolved through the movies. I, like a few others, did find the addition of songs to the series from the second movie on to be a bit of a detriment to the series...however some of the song are good and can be catchy.

I have to say I love LBT even though I'm fifteen, but hey don't we all.

I have all nine movies the movies are great. There is always a moral to all the stories and good music to sing along with.
My family is always looking forward for the next movie to come out. Just one flaw these ten year old dinosaurs have not aged a bit. Must be nice. :)

This 9-DVD set is wonderful. My son and daughter love these movies. They are adorable and really teach lessons in a cute way.

I would highly recommend if your child likes dinosaurs to invest in the set.

My four year old granddaughter loves this 9 volume set of "Land Before Time." She has learned valuable social interactions from watching the characters interact. This is well worth the money we payed for this group of movies.

As purchaser of DVDs for a public library, I want to select a wide variety of titles and to use my budget wisely. The library already had Land Before Time X, XI, and XII on DVD, and a few of the earlier ones on VHS. This 9-movie box set brings us almost up to date (XIII is now out) and cost much less than buying the individual titles! These are very popular movies, always being circulated! Go to your library and check them out!

Only reviewing the product and not the company who sent it. It was and is great. Any child who enjoys the cartoon would absolutely love this set. My sons a big fan of "The Land Before Time" He was so, excited when receiving it. If your child loves this show your only problem would be making sure you get a portable dvd player too...lol He sings along with each movie and enjoys all of the characters and story lines. It's a great gift for the child dinosaur lover.
