5.0 out of 5 stars Land of the Bible By Yohanan Aharoni, May 17, 2008
This review is from: The Land of the Bible, Revised and Enlarged Edition: A Historical Geography (Paperback)
This Book is Excellant and better than I could ever imagined. There are places the Bible speakes of that you cannot locate on most maps, however the maps in this book takes away all doubts of where it is. It is an excellent tool for anyone that studies the Bible and I highly recommend that they add it to their study collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading, but a bit dry, July 20, 2007
This review is from: The Land of the Bible, Revised and Enlarged Edition: A Historical Geography (Paperback)
I enjoyed the book but not as much as I had hoped. It is filled with so many superflous details, that at times I was lost waiting for the author to reach his point of deliever the information I was looking for. If someone is looking for an indepth book on the history and geography of Israel and the surrounding region, then this is a great read. However, if basic information concerning the geography of Isreal (especially during the first century) is what you are after, then pass on this one.

You can't study archaeology of the ancient near east and archaeology of the Bible without this work. This is probably the best work on this subject. Fantastic!
