5.0 out of 5 stars Hauntings aplenty
"Land of Celtic Ghosts" is an excellent remastering of a noted documentary originally released in 1980. Richard Basehart narrates a well written, interesting, graphically fascinating production.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hauntings aplenty, March 20, 2010
This review is from: Land of the Celtic Ghosts (Dol Amar) (DVD)
"Land of Celtic Ghosts" is an excellent remastering of a noted documentary originally released in 1980. Richard Basehart narrates a well written, interesting, graphically fascinating production.

There are ghosts in Ireland, and the guided tours and filmed interviews with eye witnesses. Visuals include Howth Castle, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Glenfesk, Muckross Abbey, Carrickmines and many others. For North Americans accustomed to the wanton destruction of 'old' buidlings, this is pure joy!

My only wish for the film is that there would be more of the mythology, more interviews, and if posible, even footage/photos where possible. However, being this was done 30 years ago, the technology was modern, yet today with the many ghost hunting shows available, it seems primitive.

I love the footage of the castles. My daughter, while watching the film, remarked that she had cruised past the castle and quickly pulled up a picture.

Well worth the 93 minutes of time.
