My most favorite CD over time,

We were introduced to Land of Enchantment over 5 years ago and never tire of it. This guy can access our ability to soar. Other favorites come and go and Land of Enchantment just continues to come back. This CD is one of our top gifts for people we really like.

The MOST relaxing music I own!,

Whenever stress builds up, I put this CD on and go to track 8 (Petite Fleur). The entire collection is soothing, but this particular one is extra-special; it just has a very calming effect.

Top Notch,

Deuter's music is at once both typical and defining for the New Age category. It would be possible to use this music to meditate (this is not necessarily a positive statement, as the same could be said for Halpran's music, which I don't like). But it is also very melodic, and active enough to hold my attention. Although gentle, it is not elevator music. This is my wife's favorite recording in this genera.

I've had the cassette for years now - but can't locate it at the moment. Time to replace it with a CD. This is one of my all time favorite pieces of music. One has to hear it to appreciate it.

The last time I saw my father, he was driving me to the airport near Seaside, Florida. He played an old cassette tape while we drove. The sounds were inspiring and I expressed a desire to make a copy of the tape. Instead, he gave me the tape to keep. The cassette was "Land of Enchantment" by Deuter.
A little over a year later, two weeks before I was supposed to visit him, he died unexpectedly. Six months to the day after his death, I decided to go to massage school at BTI this fall. Today, I played the cassette for the first time since he gave it to me, and am listening now. The music is by Deuter, and is probably music I will use a lot during massage. I highly recommend him.

For "new age" instrumentals, this is one of the best I've heard...,

The name "Deuter" was not familiar to me, and in general I am not much interested in "new age" music, although I confess to having owned several albums in the genre over the past few decades. But I saw this at an estate sale for 75 cents, and the notes on the back said recorded in Santa Fe, (although the songs include tracks inspired in Hawaii, France and Peru) so I bought it. I'm pleased. It is nice to hear while driving, or in the background of a Scrabble game. I think most of it is too lively to play while a person is trying to meditate (a practice I gave up in the late '70's) but as a modern version of the lounge music popularized by Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman back in the late '50's, this is a successful release.

While I very much liked some of the tracks on this CD, others were a bit disappointing to me. To my mind there wasn't as much "continuity" in this album as in other Deuter albums I've purchased. I didn't feel this album was as appropriate to use as background for Reiki sessions as many of his other albums, though I do like it for just music "to live by."
