I first found this CD at the library, screening music to then buy and send to a precious new family member, and had to buy one for myself! The lyrics/poems convey vivid and evocative images of childhood and sleepy times, the music is outstanding (orchestral accompaniment for a children's lulluby CD was a wonderful surprise!) and the vocals were outstanding. The song about the little seeds ready to burst out of the ground was especially powerful and the others were absolutely stunning. This is not your typical cd with reruns of "twinkle twinkle" and other traditional favorites-this one is special and parents will enjoy this as well! Lynn

I have decided that I need to review this album. We bought this to play for my infant son while he was falling asleep. He is now 7 and still listens to it almost every night. These songs have become a part of our family culture. The lyrics are the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson, and the music is simply beautiful. I don't really know how to describe it except to say that it is hauntingly lovely. It almost lets you touch childhood. There is a song about what it's like to go to have to go to sleep during the daylight in the summer when you can still hear older kids playing outside. Another is about the simple joy of going up in a swing and overlooking all the things on the ground.
