Yep, Mr. Newman & Ms. Spigel (AKA - "Mrs. Newman") and Co. have cooked up another batch of fine, tasty songs. With healthy flavorings of vintage Wire and middle-eastern Minimal Compact spices. Robust and satisfying. Like their previous endeavor ('Artpop'), it leaves a lingering aftertaste of Hemlock and Jujubes with just a hint of smokey nightclub aroma. Unlike their earlier (pre-Artpop) EP material it is also fully-formed and neither underdone nor overdone. Just right! Bon appetite...

The pedigree is strong and so is the music.
The sound is an updated version of what you may have been hearing in certain circles during 1979-1982. This has a hell of a lot more integrity than the copyist bands you hear going around these days. These guys did it first! |
