My G1 flight jacket arrived today. A great jacket, well made, for the price. I was a flight crew member in the Navy from 1962-1966, in a S3 carrier based A.S.W. aircraft. I had to turn my jacket in when I left the squadron, and always wanted my own to keep, but prohibitive prices kept me from purchasing one. This jacket is priced lower than used ones on E/Bay, and is very good quality in grade of leather, and construction. I wonder how much better the $300.00 to $500.00+ jackets could be, as this jacket is all I expected, and more.

If you're hesitant about ordering this bomber jacket, don't be, unless of course you're willing to fork out hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for bomber jackets the military actually uses. I for one wasn't and reaped the nice savings for other things accordingly (can you say big barbecue grill). I did all the mind-numbing comparisons already and believe me, for the money this jacket is an excellent deal: the stitching is tight, the leather is supple, and you'll notice the quality in it's construction as soon as you start wearing the jacket. The brown exactly resembles dark chocolate, so much so, lots of times it appears black in certain lighting conditions, which I personally love. It doesn't look or feel cheap for those of you concerned, like I was, and it's got that nice leather sound and smell indicative of good leather jackets, too. My jackets actually getting nicer the more I wear it. Luxury Lane also is top notch and I received my jacket in only four days by standard shipping, which unbelievably they paid for 2-day to expedite my order, although it was the holidays, so your experience may vary. When I received my jacket I carefully snipped off the inside tag because it said Made in China (not so patriotic, yes I am a bit ashamed) and caressed some mink oil on to waterproof and condition the leather to insure decades of use. Just make doubly sure you order your correct size for the best fit; the company website has a handy size recommendation chart you can review if your not sure, which I recommend you do because I thought I needed a large-large and really needed a medium x-large - go figure. Anyway, if you really want cool retro patches on your jacket too, there's plenty of sites on the internet that sell gorgeous ones to pick and choose from, which you can help buy with the money you save. Do yourself a favor and order yourself the jacket if you just want a well-made, rich feeling leather jacket to look sharp in. Remember, you can always send it back if you don`t like it.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this coat. I paid about the same price for this coat as I did for my previous one, which finally had to be replaced after 20 years! When I put on this coat, I immediately asked myself why I had waited so long to replace my old one. It is a lot more comfortable and warmer, too. I cannot imagine being happier, without paying a WHOLE LOT MORE!

I had a similar jacket in the Navy and I think it might have had a bit thicker leather. That aside, this one is warm, looks great, and the fit is perfect for me. I got a large and I'm about a 42 jacket size. Luxury Lane packed it really well and sent it out promptly. I have already recommended them to friends and second that online. A real value!

I was excited about ordering the jacket and could not wait until I received it. It was a dark-dark brown, but was OK with me. I was surprized about the thickest of the leather. It was not that heavy as I was thinking it should be for a "bomber G1 jacket". The size I ordered was a XX/L,Long and it was a perfect fit for 6'2", 230 lbs, medium frame individual. It had room to wear my fleece-vest with no problems. The temperure test and range - In Houston, up to 65 degrees was the limit, heat wise; down to 14 degrees in Cleveland, Ohio, no wind - it was still warm and confortable without my vest. It seems to be well build and constructed, yet no strong leather smell. I am still wondering what kind of leather it really is - just not clear. However, it was soft, set on it in a airplane ride to Cleveland and popped back just like new.
Big disappointment with the zipper; very hard to get it hooked up, but worked well afterwards. The collar is sewn on, and you can not remove it, however, it feels good and comfortable.
I was well pleased with the decision to buy the jacket and would still do it again. It is a great value for the dollar. I too, cut the "Made in China" out of pride for the US NAVY tag and American Flag inside. I have also, received positive comments while wearing an American ICON....

After seeing multiple great reviews of this jacket I was overwhelmed to purchase it as a gift. After seeing it in person and feeling it. I had regrets of even buying it. The leather feels cheap and very thin. The insulation is uneven and bulky. The collar felt cheap as well. Compared to my military issued Cooper G1 jacket I was terribly disappointed by a great deal.

Bottom line this jacket is very cheaply produced. If you are going to buy a bomber jacket - spend the money to get a REAL jacket. It will be worth it in the end.

The bottom line with this G-1 flight bomber jacket was way to thin.The leather was way to thin for my personal taste,and it got alittle thinner depending on the location on the jacket.So,if your looking for a G-1 thats rugged,this is not the jacket for you.When i returned the jacket,i was not credited for the shipping on the total that i paid to get the jacket delivered,and i paid out of pocket to send it back.

This jacket was wonderful! I ordered it around Christmastime and it was getting close to the 25th. The company pulled out all the stops to make sure we got the jacket before Christmas. The quality is superb and the leather is buttery-soft. Sizing is spot-on! Thanks so much!!!

I love the looks of this jacket, however , when I opened the box it came in there was a terrable chemical oder, it was so bad it made my eyes water. I tried airing it out for about 10 days to no avail. I ended up taking it to the cleaners. That worked fine but it did cost $49. Now the stiching along the zipper is coming loose. Guess I will take it to the taylor. I sent two e-mails to the mfg. Have yet to get a response. Needless to say, I am very dissapointed.

BOUGHT THIS JACKET A MONTH AGO (JAN. 2010) LOOKS GREAT BUT AFTER A FEW WEARINGS HAS TWO TEARS IN THE PAPER THIN LEATHER !!!!!VERY DISSAPOINTED AND WOULD NOT BUY THIS JACKET !!
