should be titled "Job Hunting Skills" not "Job Loss", April 12, 2007
This review is from: Landing on Your Feet: An Inspirational Guide to Surviving, Coping, and Prospering from Job Loss (Paperback)
I purchased this book after spending a year in a position that I was really hoping would turn out to be more of a career and less of a temporary diversion on my way to the unknown. This book was no help to me.
Instead of focusing on dealing with the emotional issues of job loss, the chapters in this book focus on resume writing skills, dressing for success, and interviewing skills. This book should be broken up into articles and posted on CareerBuilder, not offered to people questioning their worth in the workplace.
If you can't heal the wounds of being let go from a situation where you once felt valued, how can you sell yourself to a new one? While each person may have their own circumstances surrounding their job loss, I imagine that there are better books out there to help people who attach their personal worth to a job they no longer have.
