"Landlords Of Atlantis" Is one hot rockin recording. Great sound quality and has a great remake of John Goodsall's "Healing Dream" originaly featured on the Brand X's Xcommunication and a remake of "Hamsterdam" featured on "Fire Merchants" 1989. The players: John Goodsall (Guitars and Midi guitar Synthesizers), Doug Lunn (Four and five string fretless bass, and Piano,) Toss Panos (Drums). A 1994 release.

Landlords Of Atlantis is a fusion masterpiece. This sadly obscure work is an instrumental masterpiece. "Thing 15, "(And again) Hamsterdam", "Healing Dream", and "Worlds In Modulation" are absolutely brilliant. John Goodsall unspools torrents of mind-crushing cliche-free shred guitar. Doug Lunn and Toss Panos are a monstrous rhythm section. It's a shame that this band didn't find a bigger following.

This is the almost-impossible-to-find followup to the first FM album, a harder-edged Brand X c/o John Goodsall and friends (on this cd, Toss Panos and Doug Lunn). It's on Renaissance Records - not the reissue label, but the CD imprint of Michael Piper's vinyl label The Wild Places (which explains its relative scarcity). LANDLORDS OF ATLANTIS features more metallic fusion a la their first selftitled release, only better in all departments. More focused composition and playing, much improved production (thanks to the late Kevin Gilbert), and Goodsall just burns the fretboard here in a manner that the group-aesthetic of his other band didn't allow him. Oddly enuf, it's the Doug Lunn material('9/28/91', 'Thing 15', 'And Again Hamsterdam')on which Goodsall really tears it up; his own pieces, like 'Healing Dream' and 'Worlds in Modulation', tend to be more composed structures, but the alternating styles make for a satisfying and fully-rounded audio experience, certainly equal to the best Brand X. Not to shortshrift the sidemen, Lunn and Panos comprise an inspired and very limber rhythm section who complement Goodsall superbly. Worth hunting down.
