WE bought these grabbers and they worked really well until the very thin wire which connects the handle to the tong broke at the connection to the handle. I cannot see any way to repair them so into the trash they must go. A heavier duty connection rod would make this a great product!Landmann 35 Inch Log Grabber, Black

this this is much easier to use than traditional fireplace grabbers, and its long so it works great for camping. Its really strong, easy to use, and durable. Its worth every penny, and I have given a few of them to friends after I see that they are in need of one.

I use this to pick up firewood near the ground and load it on the cart to bring in the house. Because I have a bad back it makes this task pleasurable instead of painful. At first I picked the firewood, put it in my hand, then the cart. Soon I learned that I could just pick the firewood and transfer it directly to my cart. I can transport the grabber by hanging it on my cart as I go out or as I bring wood in. Sure, it would be nice if the jaws were spring loaded open, but I have learned my own techniques for opening the jaws. I envision using the grabber for any heavy duty projects that involve retrieving heavier items from the ground in yard work. For anyone with back problems this is a "must have" tool if you want to be efficient in yard work.

Not displeased with the item, but would not purchase it again. I need something that is more heavy duty, this one is light weight and can only be used to move or pick up things that are light weight and small. In fact my first one broke and I was sent a new one. Rather hard to operate too.

I was hoping for a spring loaded grabber, something that would open automatically like tongs and I could use to grab log. You have to open these manually and then grab logs. Other than that they are satisfactory enough, but not what I was hoping for.

i was searching for fireplace tools to give as a gift for a campfire enthusiast who recently moved into an apartment with a working wood burning fireplace... initially my search was for a tool set, but quickly i realized it might be a waste of money because most of those tools are more display pieces as they re not very practical. when i came across this product i nervously selected it... it wasn't as pretty as some of the other sets, but my guy told me to go with it because it seemed to be exactly what my friend needed. When the fire log grabber was opened and used, it was perfect... not too big, the grabber mechanism is solid and not klunky, and overall it seems like a solid well made tool.. my friend couldn't be happier with this gift!

At first you think $25 for some log grabber isn't necessary. Then you'll use it to stack and restack fallen logs and you'll realize that it's a great investment. I actually still have all of my arm hair this summer! I use this in an in-ground fire pit I made in the yard. Once you get the hang of it you just grab some wood and place it any way you want in the fire. The leverage is such that you can pick up pretty big pieces of wood. Then when things burn down you can reorganize the wood to make it burn better or more completely. Anyway, I've had it for the summer and it's working great. Can't see it ever failing. Although I do keep it out of the weather when I'm not using it. Anyone with an average strength can use this easily.

The log grabber isn't bad for the money. It would be nice if it had a spring to open the jaws.

I bought one of these for my parents 3 years ago and it is one of their favorite gifts. It is easy to use and the length makes it perfect for outdoor firepits. It has been used very frequently and has held up without problems.

This is a great product. The length is perfect for the standing fire pit that we have and the gripper is easy to use. So far it seems to be well made.
